For me, this recipe makes two "pies." I use only three tortillas per pie. I add green olives, jalapenos, sour cream -- whatever I'm in the mood for. It's delicious, different, and makes an extra one to freeze. One of my all-time favorites!

I thought this was pretty good but my husband hated it. I added a whole can of corn and not the peppers (hubby doesn't like them). Next time I would substitute the kidney beans for some mexican rice. That would be a lot better I think. Make sure you really like beans before you make this recipe.

Wow this really was delicious! I made it in a pie dish! I can't imagine this ever being bland unless you forgot to add the cumin/chili powder! Even my kids who don't eat mexican liked the dish! I'm passing this one out to my friends! thanks for sharing!

How disappointing! I can't believe this recipe has so many 5 stars. It was bland and heavy. The only thing good about this recipe was that is gave me some ideas about how to make my own.

Excellent - I've made this for company and they're always happy. Sometimes I add veggie ground round. I find that I can add another couple of cans of beans and make two pies. I'll freeze one and have it the next week.

This recipe is absolutely fantastic! My husband and I don't have fancy tastes and were looking for more vegetarian recipes to incorporate into our diet. This one is pretty quick, uses common ingredients, and you don't miss the meat at all. I used an 8x8 glass pan instead of a round pie dish and it worked just fine for me. I even recommended this dish to my mother-in-law!

This was very simple to prepare. I used regular flour tortillas, and it was very good. Quick and easy dinner.

I thought this recipe was delicious. I realized I didn't have the right spices so I used a 5 spice blend and 5 drops of tabasco sauce- worked well. I also made my own tortillas. I will definitely make this again.

This recipe is now a staple in our home. Sometimes I cut the tortillas into quaters and just layer them in a square dish. It works just as well. My husband said, "This tastes just like Taco Bell, only better!" (And he loves Taco Bell!)

I was really excited about this recipe, but it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. It was dry and heavy.

Oh my WOW!!!! This was fantastic! I didn't have a deep round cake pan, so I used two shallow ones and 6 tortillas (instead of 5). THIS WAS SOOOOOO GOOD! I had a vegan friend over so I substituted tofu cheese and sour cream and my husband couldn't even tell, he loved it and he's a meat eater to the core. Next time I might play around--add another jalepeno or some onions. This has become an immediate staple in our house--THANKS!

This bean pie is the best thing that happened to my family dinner time in a while. I make one with and one without spice so all can enjoy. It's healthy , very very quick, keeps well, is awesome reheated and for a mid - sized family is the cheapist meal around. We love this bean pie.

My husband and I loved this dish. Would suggest using a 9x13 inch dish and reducing the layers to three, and using rectangular tortillas. Used Pepper Jack cheese. Also, think it might stay in the oven a bit longer so it is hotter. I will definitely make again.

This is really good. I made this for my Mom and my really picky sister. Both of them loved it. The filling can also be used for burritos. I had enough filling to do two pie tins. Also, try and look for 9 inch tortillas so they fit perfectly in the pan. This save a lot of time cutting the tortillas to fit the pan.

This was good and easy. However, I'm a big fan of spicy dishes and found this to be slightly bland. Would definately add more spices, perhaps chipolte peppers, to the bean mixture and maybe a layer of salsa inside the pie. Some fresh cilantro would be good too. And the recipes really serves just 4.

I was amazed we all loved this one. Usually when I try a new recipe someone hates it, but this was a major hit! I'm passing this recipe out to all my friends! I did use a little more cheese than it called for.
