Give it a try. I did it with flax seed, almonds, cashews and a dash of peanuts and it was good. Just be sure to not overcook it.

You can make this as simple or complex as you want! I simplify it by just using honey, olive oil, a little water, salt, and then the mix-ins.

Super easy and super delicious. I had a hard time waiting for it to cool down enough to eat! I found half of this recipe plenty for me. I made one change: while the syrup was heating up, I put 1C of flaked coconut into the pan the granola was going to bake in, and toasted that in the oven for about 4 minutes. Then I put that back in with the dry ingredients, and put the syrup over everything. It turned out to be a nice addition. One tip: use a really big bowl to mix everything!

The great thing about this recipe is that it is so versatile and you can add and omit anything that you want! I decided to take out the sunflower seeds and add more pecans, almonds and rolled oats. I didn't want to add any maple syrup and instead added more honey and it tasted great. I preferred to bake it longer on each side, about 12 minutes, so the nuts were toasted a little bit. I added cranberries in the beginning with the rest of the dry ingredients and it turned out fine. Instead of having to mix in the middle of the baking time, I took a pan out of the oven, placed parchment paper on top, then placed a cookie pan on top and flipped the whole thing so the granola was flipped and I wouldn't have to stir - it worked out great but make sure you have a good grip of both pans or else granola goes flying! Have fun with this recipe and remember, you can't go wrong with the ingredients!

Great recipe. Totally versatile. I love the nutty, toastiness of it. I'm definitely making it again and adding chocolate chips. It only makes sense to try it!

this is one of my favorites. Some things I do differently. Use flax seed instead of wheat germ. I don't use sunflower seeds nor maple syrup. 20 minutes may not seem like enough time, but when it cools it is crisper. This has become a favorite breakfast cereal for us. So much healthier and less expensive than store bought granola.

This is the best granola I have ever made or eaten. My husband and I love it. I won't try any others now. I have found my favorite. I used Splenda brown sugar and sugar free syrup. You won't be disappointed you made this.

I made to recipe, but used only almonds and pecans and adjusted amounts. Very good - certainly cheaper than store bought!

We love this receipe. Only change is that we bake it for an hour @ 250 degrees stirring every 15 minutes. Turns out perfect. Delicious in yogurt!

I'm so gad I found this recipe! I was using a different one on the site and I didn't realize how "not great" it was until I tried this. However, I did substitute apple sauce for the oil...and saved about 2,000 calories. Still tasted great!

Yum! I only had pecans so I chopped up about 2 cups worth for a half recipe. I also put in extra cinnamon. It is yummy to munch on right out of the bag or with yogart or milk like cereal.

Excellent! Easy to make but I suggest using insulated baking trays to avoid burning. It took longer to cook using insulated sheets but worth it! DELICIOUS! And healthy too. I had no maple syrup so used golden syrup instead and added raw pumpkin seeds too. We serve it hot - microwave 15 seconds after adding milk!

This is by far the best granola ever!!! I made the batch and took some to work. Everyone was asking for some. I'm going to make a double back next time so that I have enough to last longer than a couple days. I ate it with milk like cereal, but liked it better mixed in with vanilla yogurt. I couldn't get enough. I bet it would be great made into chewy granola bars as well.

Everyone loved it. Very wholesome. Only downside is it goes away fast! I didn't include sunflower seeds or raisins because I'm a little bit purist about granola...
