I made this for my husband and he loved it. The only difference I made was to omit the potatoes since he doesn't like them in his stews. It was a little soupy, most likely because of the missing potatoes, but it was extremely flavorful and super easy to make. I'll be making this again.

We weren't really impressed. I used a big bag of meatballs so doubled everything else. The flavor wasn't really all that bad, but the dish was very greasy. Unless you pre-cook the meatballs and soak up the grease, before adding them, I don't know how you'd fix the problem. Probably won't make again in the crockpot. I may use the meatballs as a main dish cook them, and mix the gravy mix on the side. After soaking up the grease on the meatballs, pour the gravy over and maybe serve with mashed potatoes or something.

All four children gobbled this up! Used my own mini meatballs and leftout celery (personal preference). Great idea for something different!Thank you

This was quick and easy, and also very filling. I doubled everything but the onion soup mix and used regular carrots instead of baby. Very good will make again!

Very good stew. It didn't have quite the flavor I wanted so instead of using flour to thicken, I used a package of beef gravy mix. It was just what it needed.

I made this recipe the way it is written except that I added more water and used frozen turkey meatballs instead. It ended up being WAAAY too salty for my liking so I fixed it up a bit to be more my speed. These are the changes I made: -Like I said, I used frozen Turkey meatballs, but I used the whole 28 oz. bag since it was for a mothers group with moms and kids. -I added about 2-3 cups MORE water so that it was more soupy. (for a total of 3-4 cups) -I added 1 can of NO SALT ADDED tomato paste to thicken it up after adding more volume to the soup with the water. -I added about 1 tablespoon of sugar to cut the saltiness. -I used 5 ribs of celery and 4 potatoes (Not counting the raw one I added at the end to soak up some of the salt) -I added 2 cloves of crushed garlic -I added one bay leaf. This makes a whole crock pot full. (a big oval crock pot) By making it THIS way I would give it four stars. It's a very yummy soup but not out of this world. It's good for kids! The kids in the mothers group seemed to love it since it had meatballs and carrots and potatoes in it, all good kid foods. If I made it again I would do all of my changes and possibly omit the bouillon since there is onion soup mix and condensed soup in it already, which is probably what makes it so salty. For me, It's worth keeping with the changes I made.

My husband & I really enjoyed this stew, it is very "homey". I used Armour Meatballs, left out the celery, and only used half an onion. It was plenty tasty. I will definately be making this again! In fact, I am providing a meal for a lady from church who just had a baby, and this is what I decided to make! :o) I put my Crock Pot on high and gradually turn it down to low, and it takes less cooking time.

I made my own meatballs (1 pound lean hamburger, 1/4 cup bread crumbs, oregano and cilanto, rolled into balls and baked at 350 for about 30 minutes, then freeze) This stew went over really well with the kids. The only change I made was I used regular carrots cut into coins, my kids won't touch cooked baby carrots. Add some Fluffy Whole Wheat Biscuits from this site and you have a tasty easy meal!

Was a nice stew. I used turkey meatballs instead to lighten it up a bit. I also added cubed butternut squash. I had the tomato soup but forgot to put it in but it came out well anyway. This recipe could use a bit more seasoning though.

This was very easy to make and quite good. My husband LOVED it. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that is was a bit overly salty tasting. And since you put no salt in it, I'm not sure how to fix that. Perhaps when I make it again (and I definately will) I'll use low sodium tomato soup and gravy. But overall very good. We bought little sourdough bread bowls to fill with the stew. Excellent.

Brings back memories. My mom used to make this meal every Wednesday night. She did hers in the crock pot, and made homemade meatballs. This way she didn't have to pay too much attention to dinner so we could go to church. This is almost identical to hers..Kudos!!!
