I thought the Italian seasoning was overpowering but, other than that, the meatballs had no flavor. I had to use an extra egg too. I'll keep looking but thank you for sharing your recipe!

Love these meatballs! I'll be using this regularly in my meal planning. Boyfriend and son really liked the meatball subs. Only thing, next time I'll try making my own sauce vs. store-bought. Thanks for sharing.

I stuck very close to the original recipe and it was a huge hit. The only changes I made were to substitute shredded mozzarella for provolone because it's what I had on hand. I also made the meatballs a bit smaller I guess, since I ended up with more than twelve. I think this is an excellent meatball recipe without any tweaking. Each time I make it now, I make a double batch so I can freeze half for spaghetti or more meatball subs in the future.

I have been using this recipe for 2-3 years now for all meatball cooking. It's great with spaghetti, for Swedish meatballs, spicy meatballs, etc... They cook well either baked or in the frying pan. Any other recipe I do that has meatballs as part of the recipe, I skip and use this one instead. Funnily enough, I've never actually made a meatball sandwich :)

Goodness this is great! I made this for my husband and three small kids. I followed the directions as is. It was so yummy. I will be making these again. So much flavor. My husband could not stop eating these meatballs. 2 sandwiches for dinner and one for a snack. Next time I made double the recipe.

I have to first say that I am not a fan of meatball subs. After eating this, I am! This recipe is wonderful!. I am going to use this for my regular meatballs from now on. Thanks for the recipe!

These were very tasty subs. I had never had a meatball sub before. I'm glad I found this recipe. Even my toddler gobbled it up. Thanks for sharing. I made the meatballs in advance and froze them for a later dinner. The night before I was ready to use them, I just pulled them out to defrost and then finished the recipe as directed.

Delicious! I made this for game day and hubby and I both really liked these sandwiches. I made it pretty much as is, but personal changes would be easy to incorporate. Will make again and again.

Great when used with venison!! I followed other recommendations and added an extra teaspoon of italian seasoning, and added an extra egg (venison is so lean and I find the extra egg gives it a little bit more moisture). I didn't have fresh parsley so only added 1 tsp. It really was very good - both my picky daughter and husband ate this!

We found these meatballs to be rather bland. I used very lean ground meat (93/7), maybe that made a difference??? I followed the recipe precisely. Nothing special.

We had hotdog buns left over from Labor Day, so I made the meatballs and used a marinara sauce from this site, and it was awesome! My family ate it all up!

So Yummy!!! I made this last night for my dad and I-followed the recipe for the meatballs, but we used just a regular french bread loaf without toasting it, and added mozzarella in place of provolone. Perfect! Dad even complemented how good it was-he even got a second helping of just the meatballs.
