Hearty and Delicous! I was a bit skeptical at first because of all the starch (beans, pasta) but it was great. Used corn and peas for the veggies. Added 1/2 can V-8 Juice (I always add V-8 to my soups) and used fresh Rosemary and Thyme. The Rosemary gave it a great added flavor. Thanks!

You can't mess this up, add what you want! This one is delicious. I took some suggestions from other people that posted and it came out fantastic.

Excellent kid pleasing recipe! I feed 8 kids and several adults (include a couple very picky eaters) this and received multiple complements. Quick, easy, very basic recipe that can be easily modified.... I followed the recipe closely, doubling it and using what I had on hand - my changes were adding sauteed onion instead of dried, black beans and garbanzos, and a seven seas rosemary and garlic blend instead of the basil, and a pasta variety blend I had on hand instead of spaghetti.

My grandkids loved this soup. I made a few changes to suit our taste. For instance, I used fresh diced carrots, a handful of frozen peas and a can of corn rather than the mixed frozen veg. Used boxed beef broth instead of dry bouillon and water. Diced up an onion rather than the dry. Being retired I have all the time in the world to make this more homemade but I can tell you I would have been all over this E-Z recipe when my 5 boys were growing up.
