Mashed Potato Hot Dish
SUBMITTED BY:
Tanya Abernathy
"My cousin gave me this simple but savory recipe. Whenever I'm making homemade mashed potatoes, I throw in a few extra spuds so I can make this dish for supper the next night.--Tanya Abernathy, Yacolt, Washington"

If you love meat and potatoes, this meal's for you! It is easy, and covers the basic food groups with one casserole.

I made a few changes to this recipe. I mixed a pkg of lipton onion soup mix and 2 cups of water into my cooked ground beef and let it boil for a few minutes then drained the water off. I then put that into my 8x13 greased baking dish and put thin layer of cheddar cheese. Added a layer of mashed potatoes to the top and another lay of cheddar cheese then backed for 15 minutes at 350. My family LOVED this recipe with the changes I made. We will definitely try this again and may make a few more adjustments.

I absolutely love this recipe. I made it for the first time about a year ago and have made it MANY times since. I usually mince up some garlic and onion to thrown in the meat mixture for some added taste and there's rarely any leftovers. My Husband would eat this everyday if I'd let him!

This was easy but just OK in terms of taste. It was strange at first and then you got used to it the more you ate it! I think it was the frozen green beans? Might be better with a cream of mushroom or celery soup. Cream of chicken & hamburger is just odd to me. Not sure that I would make it again.

Really simple recipe. I used cream of mushroom soup instead of cream of chicken. It tasted really good.

This recipe was so easy and tasted so good! Only change I made was I used one can cream of chicken soup and one cream of celery because that was all I had. I did add a couple spoonfuls of sour cream to the potatoes. Will make this one again! Thanks for the great recipe.
