Original recipe plus an extra half-cup of cereal = perfection! Thanks for the recipe!

I like mine a bit thicker, so I would probably do 1.5 times this recipe for next time.

My hubby likes the Bars we get from the store and wanted to try to see if we could make our version of theirs. Used this recipe and added the xtra 1/4 cp RC, 1 cp Peanuts, 3/4 cp Raisins, 1/2 cp Almonds and 1 1/3 cp Choc Chips. Taste just as good as the ones we get from the store!

My ONLY complaint is that the recipe amount does not fill the size of dish is recommends. Would definitely double to recipe for that size of dish.

Very good recipe I also did the 6 cups of cereal ; and also just used what ever cereal I had in the cupboard a variety. Makes it look cool and fun for the kids too !! But didn't put into a pan just to "blobs" of the mixed marshmallow mixture then wrap in saran wrap and it's easy to go ! If it gets a bit hard just microwave for 10 seconds and yummy !!

So much easier using miniature marshmallows! We made marshmallow treats today using oats, goldfish, kix, and cherios - tactile playtime turned into treat-making!

You know I always wondered what I was doing wrong when I followed the recipe on the popular rice cereal box. Now I know that I was adding six cups of cereal as the recipe directed and that was FAR too much. Plus, the vanilla just really takes these from good to YUM. Now I can make rice crispy treats that taste like I remember them tasting as a kid. I added a tad more than 3 tablespoons of real butter (maybe 1/4 tablespoon more) and a scant 1/4 extra crispy rice cereal, which is the only reason I'm not giving this five full stars. The brand name crispy cereal should take a note from this recipe! Thanks so much. It will be the only one I use now.

The vanilla is a delightful touch. This recipe doubles nicely, for extra-thick bars in the same well-buttered 9x13 pan.
