I'm not a shrimp person (at ALL) and I thought it was ify only b/c it didn't cut the "sea" taste enough for me. Hubby gave it 4 stars. He said he liked it but it wasn't WOW enough for 5. Thanks for the recipe though!! It'll be great for a grillin get together.

WOW!! The shrimp were very rich in flavor. I used a seasoning that had basil in it because I didn't have basil. Will use it again and again!!

This recipe was really good. I used tomato paste with a little water cuz thats what I had on hand and also used garlic salt since I thought I had cloves and didn't. These were gone in no time. I will be making this again!

These were awesome. I did add fresh parsley and more fresh basil than in the recipe. I also marinated with frozen shrimp all day. They defrosted and marinated at the same time. I also put in a grill basket. Easier than the skews.

Adding a little citrus, such as lemon or orange juice, along with twice the amount of Cayenne and red pepper flakes will kick this recipe up to where it should be. Otherwise, while decent, it tastes like spicy ketchup. Chardonnay? Uh, no. Try an ice-cold Rose or a chilled Zinfandel. Seafood does not always = white wine! Peace

This recipe was great. We ended up marinating overnight, and they turned out great. I wouldnt have put basil with grilled shrimp but these were awesome.

The best shrimp I have ever eaten. Made this recipe twice and it is fabulous. Used up some fresh basil from the garden too. The second time I made it I hade no tomato sauce, so i used a few tablesspoons of cocktail sauce and ketchup as a substitute. Also we add a couple dashed of hot sauce in addition to red pepper flakes. If you are a scampi fan this will knock your socks off!

This was so good! I didn't have tomato sauce, so I used some marinara sauce, but the taste was delicious! My husband, who isn't a big fan of shrimp, liked it as well. Definitely high praise from him. I really liked how the ingredients are things I always have on hand.

I loved this recipe. I took a 14 oz. can of diced tomatoes and blended in a small handy chopper with the other ingredients instead of using the tomato sauce. Doubled all the ingredients except the basil. I did not use fresh basil, but it turned out excellent. The few that were left over the next day were awesome as well that were put in the fridge.

I honestly LOVED these shrimp. I thought the flavor was AMAZING, but I may have cheated a little. I didn't have tomato sauce, but I DID have Mrs. T's Bold & Spicy Bloody Mary mix in my fridge. While it didn't exactly add any spice, it probably added flavor. And, boy! What a flavor!!!! I'm going to make these for a large group of guests this week, and I cannot wait for them to try it!

I tripled the recipe, using 1/3 to marinade the shrimp and the other 2/3 to cook on the stove to put the sauce over pasta. I also added pearl onions and cherry tomatoes to skewers with the shrimp to put on the pasta as well. I added about a teaspoon of sugar to the sauce to sweeten it a bit. It was excellent. Even my picky boyfriend loved it.

Made this as an appetizer for a family cookout (grilled steaks were the main dish). An absolute hit! Everyone loved them, even more than the steaks, which are my specialty. I used frozen peeled and deveined shrimp, and substituted 2 tsp. dried basil as I didn't have fresh basil. Fabulous!

Absolutely delicious. I followed the recipe exacely except instead of putting the shrimp on skewers I used our BBQ Wok pan and just stir fried them for a few minutes until done. Can't wait to make this for company. Don't change ingredients. Perfect as is.

this was really good. I did it all at the very last minute - like an hour before we ate! I didn't have any tom sauce so I just used tom paste and added water. marinated less than an hour - still good. definitely use fresh basil. I used the "grill shrimp" from heinens - in a bag - sooooooo yummy! just put them on the grill about 10 min

What a yummy recipe! Made it based on what I had onhand - substituting red wine vinegar for apple cider vinegar, dried basil for fresh, and V8 for tomato sauce. Biggest change was to cook it on the stove instead of grilling. Even with all the changes, it was still really good (served it over egg noodles to make it go a bit further). Even my cranky-pants husband (bad day at work) admitted that it was really good.
