This is absolutely the best grilled shrimp recipe ever! It goes way beyond the 5 star rating. I found this on "allrecipes" many years ago and have been making it ever since. It's quick, easy and does not require any ingredient modifications... the recipe is perfect as is. My 2 best suggestions - 1. Always use fresh basil - it puts the flavors over the top & 2. Have copies of the recipe on hand to pass out to friends - I'm always asked for the recipe when I serve it at parties!

Fantastic, I followed the recipe exactly as written. I wouldn't change a thing it is a perfect combination of flavors. I had left over fresh basil and tomato sauce so I made the marinade again the next day this time using chicken breasts...and once again fantastic.

This is a great recipe. I added a little more tomato sauce and garlic. My husband boiled the marinade and used some as a dip for the shrimp. I also used the marinade on a chicken breast which turned out fantastic.

Recipe is a 5 star, but I made adjustments to what I had on hand. Sub ketchup for tomato paste and tabasco for cayenne pepper. Marinaded for 4 hours. Excellent!

Following advice from others, I used Chili Sauce instead of tomato sauce. I cooked rice and folded it into some sauteed onions, yellow bell peppers, diced carrots, and celery. Grilled the shrimp and put on top of the rice pilaf. My husband loved it!! Keeper!

This was heaven in a bowl and so simple to make. Can be used as a marinade for almost anything. I suggest doubling the recipe and using the unused portion as a sauce. Thank you blondieperez, I now have to go look up and try more of your recipes.

These were just wonderful. Unfortunately it was raining so I ended up cooking them in a skillet, but they still tasted great. I can't wait to try them out on the grill next time!
