This is so easy and delicious. I cook for 2 so I used a 2.5 pound roast and increased the carrots and celery. I also added 1/2 cup red wine and some worcestershire sauce.

This was a really great roast! I followed the reviewers advice of using 2 cans beef broth instead of water and I did rub down the roast with olive oil and lemon pepper. Other than that I followed the rest. It was SOOOOO good!

Awesome dinner to come home to after a long day. Just bake some dinner rolls and you are set.

Great recipe. I made it with bison, and I cooked this in my big cast iron dutch oven. First I cooked the onions, and added garlic. Then, taking the advice of other reviewers, I browned the bison after rubbing it with Montreal Steak Seasoning. Put the onions and garlic back in, added some halved red potatoes, a packet of onion soup mix, and 2 cans of beef consumme, and stuck it in the oven at 200 for 5 hours. Added some baby carrots, and in for another 2 hours. We made gravy with the broth and flour, and everything came out great. Pulled the bone out of the bison roast with one tug! I will definately be making this again.

It was very tasty...very soft. We also put in the vegetables at the halfway mark and added flour to the final broth to make it thicker for some rice gravy. delicious!

I don't know what it is about these ingredients, perhaps it's just the simplicity, but this is the BEST pot roast recipe I've come across!

The meat and vegetables were super tender. We were disappointed with the blandness of the meat, though. It would better with some sort of seasoning.

Excellent!!!!!! I did make some alternations. I did not use such a large roast so mine was a little smaller. I turned it on low about half way through the cooking time. I added the carrots and onion. I also added garlic but I did not add the potatoes. I made garlic mashed with it instead. The Carrots were amazing!!! My boyfriend Loved it! He ate all of it! I also added some extra seasoning but it was the best pot roast I've ever had. Easy too!!!

Very Good roast!!! i think its so much better in the slow cooker, it came out very juicy, only thing i did different was added about a cup of water to the onion soup. other than that, this was wonderful!!!!

I read this recipe and thought I'd give it a try since so many people seemed to like it so well. I don't like lots of onion, so I omitted the onion soup mix, but added the water with beef boullin instead. I added minced onion, carrots, potatoes, and celery and the au jous did come out a little bland. I added additional salt and pepper and that seemed to help. The roast, however, was wonderful. Will definitely make again!

This is so easy and delicious that it's ridiculous. I don't change anything about this recipe except that I don't add potatoes. I make mashed potatoes on the side. This recipe literally takes under 10 minutes to make in the morning before you leave for work.

I love this recipe. I browned my roast in a skillet with 2 teasponns of vegtable oil and added montreal sesoning on it. I placed it in the crockpot with 1& 1/2 cups of water, one packet of onion soup mix, 3 diced potatoes, and a few dashes worchershire. I cooked it on high for 1 hour( which I will opt out next time) and then on low for 5-6 hours. It was very scrumptious. I followed the advice of another user and took 2/3 cups of the juice leftover with flour and made a very tasty gravey. I will be using this one again! Thank you:)

I used beer instead of water, it turned out so tender and flavorful, it produced a wonderful base for Au Jus if you want to dip.

Mmmmm, good! I love recipes that you can just throw everything into a pot and when you get home from dinner it's done and delicious! This one the hubby raved about, nice even, mild flavor; not too salty. Will make again!

SCARY GOOD... I made this yesterday. My husband and I are both still raving about it and considering making it, again, before we run out of leftovers. Just one tip: put the veggies in halfway through cooking :)

FABULOUS!! It took only 20 minutes to prep! The only things I changed were (1) browned the meat before putting it in the crock pot and (2) I used a small bag of baby carrots instead and (3) I seasoned the meat with salt, pepper, & garlic powder before cooking. It cooked from 10am to 7:30pm and it was perfect. Just as good as my moms. I also made this recipe another time and instead of using the onion soup mix I used McCormick's Slow Cooker Savory Pot Roast Seasoning..came in a pouch like taco seasoning. Just mix with 1 cup water and pour over the meat & veggies. It was good too!!

Followed instructions. Easy and simple. I just don't think pot roast is my thing. My husband liked it very much. In my opinion it was good and better than restaurant quality, but just nothing to get crazy about.
