Ok but a little too sweet for my liking. Next time, I'll reduce the sweet & sour.

WOW!! This is the best margarita recipe I've every tried. In fact, this is the best margarita I've EVER had period. I've taken made this for several friends at different gatherings and they all love it. Two margarita's will give you a major buzz so be careful...they creep up on you!

Since I'm not a big fan of bottled sweet & sour nor triple sec, I was hesitant to try this recipe, but they are the BEST (maybe it's the Grand Marnier?) and everyone I've served them to has asked me for the recipe.

Might I recommend using Sauza 100% blue agave Tequila. And for a lovely twist try adding any flavor of Dekuyper Pucker.I personally like Watermelon or Strawberry Pucker infused margarita's. YUM! Great recipe. Thanks for sharing.

My husband and I enjoyed this recipe all summer. Thank you! Here's a similar version for two that honors the original recipe, uses fresh ingredients, and uses a cocktail shaker instead of a blender: Combine into saucepan and bring to boil while stirring or swirling: 3/4 cup water and 3/4 cup sugar. Set aside to cool. Juice and strain 3 to 5 lemons and 3 to 5 limes until you have 1 1/2 cups juice. Pour 1 1/2 cups strained juice and 3/4 cup sugar syrup into 18 oz or larger container; stir. This sweet and sour mix will keep in refrigerator for at least a week; stir before each use. Pre-chill 8 oz tumbler glasses in freezer. Rim glasses - (outside rim only) - with fresh lime and coarse kosher salt, if desired. Add 3 pieces of ice to each glass. Fill cocktail shaker with 4 oz sweet and sour (and, this is important, 2 oz of water if using the lesser amount of alcohol); 2 - 3 oz 1800 Reposado or Anejo Tequila; 1/2 - 3/4 oz Grand Marnier; and 1 1/2 - 2 oz Bols Triple Sec Liqueur. Add 4 ice cubes; cover and shake briskly for 10 slow seconds. Strain into pre-chilled glasses with ice; add squeeze of lime to each drink. We love the stronger version, particularly after a hard day, but prefer the lighter version most days. I listed my brand preferences, but any quality products will do. Enjoy!

These were great. I made them for Cinco de Mayo this year. After you buy all the ingredients, it is a little pricey. But a good treat to those who appreciate a good margarita.

WOOOWEEE... These are extremely strong. I omitted the orange liquor because it was very expensive, maybe that would have made them better and not too overpowering, I dunno. I am not sure if I'll make these again.

Delicious. I don't use any further orange liqueur (Grand Marnier)--the Triple Sec is enough.

Great recipe, Carol. I used 2 cups of Tequila, and I did not share a drop with anyone else at the party. I paid for that dearly the next day, but it was worth it! Thanks.

Not quite as good as the ones my Auntie makes (she was taught in Mexico how to make the perfect Margarita) but a close second! Very refreshing on a hot summers eve :)
