I find that this is the best if using the Authentic Jose Cuervo Watermelon Margarita with the alcohol in the mix. Some things just are not ment to be made "virgin" without the alcohol included!

oh wow! this was so good! i don't know if it makes a difference to have the tequila in the mix or not since i don't taste a strong tequila flavor (i used the premade margarita) but i thought it was excellent. i used everything the recipe suggested except i swapped the honeydew for watermelon and my marmalade was a homemade peach/ginger marmalade but it turned out really well regardless. definitely will be making for the next potluck :)

Loved this dressing. Thin sliced mint a pain in the neck but actually made a big difference. I used a variety of fruits, including green and red grapes, mandarin oranges, watermelon, etc.

Made some substitutions (pears instead of strawberries & apricot preserves instead of orange), but nonetheless, didn't find this recipe exciting or original. Basically a fruit salad. Sauce/dressing did nothing for me (and I love margaritas). I had just one serving. David ate the rest.

Haven't made this yet-- I plan on trying it soon; am giving 3 stars for now, just 'cause it looks so good! But I do have a comment -- "Jose Cuervo Authentic Margarita" is a pre-mixed ready-to-serve Margarita; with tequila already in it. It isn't margarita MIX, and they're not referring to just tequila... although I guess if you wanted to you could mix your own margarita & use 1/2 cup in the dressing-- and drink the rest!! ; )

Okay, I made this last night and brought it to work today. I have some mixed reviews on this. First off, I did not use Tequila, but rather the mix (non-alcohol). I would make this as directed again for a summer or 4th of July fruit salad, the mint and melon gives it a nice fresh cool flavor. 5 stars for that. But I made it for Cinco De Mayo since it was a featured recipe. I didn't remind me at all of a margarita or anything close to Cinco De Mayo celebration. But looking again at the ingredients, I can see I would try this same recipe with guava, mango, jimica, strawberries, pineapple, you know, a little more tropical fruits. I would also add the "real" stuff since the Margarita mix flavor was a little lost in all the fruit and mint. That's why I rated it a 3- the Margarita flavor I wanted was lost.
