Okay, I made this last night and brought it to work today. I have some mixed reviews on this. First off, I did not use Tequila, but rather the mix (non-alcohol).
I would make this as directed again for a summer or 4th of July fruit salad, the mint and melon gives it a nice fresh cool flavor. 5 stars for that.
But I made it for Cinco De Mayo since it was a featured recipe. I didn't remind me at all of a margarita or anything close to Cinco De Mayo celebration. But looking again at the ingredients, I can see I would try this same recipe with guava, mango, jimica, strawberries, pineapple, you know, a little more tropical fruits. I would also add the "real" stuff since the Margarita mix flavor was a little lost in all the fruit and mint. That's why I rated it a 3- the Margarita flavor I wanted was lost.
