This was the BEST salmon I have ever made. I used real maple syrup and I think that is a MUST. I served it with a side of whole wheat couscous with sauteed veggies and it was fantastic! I cooked it 10 minutes per inch of thickness, and it came out just great!

This recipe was great! i used it exactly as followed and my salmon came out great. A hint the longer you marinate the fish, the more moisture it will retain so I usually refrigerate it for about 2-3 hours instead of the one but it always turns out great!

I thought this recipe was okay... I guess all the 5 star ratings made me expect a little more WOW factor. It is extremely easy so I will probably try it one more time.

This was delicious! My husband and I are on diets but we desperately want to keep taste and flavor. Thank you for this one. Even my kids wanted seconds. I served it with fresh spinach sauteed in olive oil and fresh garlic. I did not have maple syrup the second time I made this. I used mollasses, worstershire sauce and soy sauce. It was just as good. Also, I marinated it a few minutes less than the recipe said...guess we were just hungry...and the sauce is devine with one little slither of toasted bread as a garnish. It tastes good and makes a great presentation. I am putting this one in my "entertainment" category. Thanks Starflower!!!

Hmmmm.... Made this for my fiance and I last night. I think he would vote to not have it again, although he seemed to like it a bit more than I did. I was hoping to recreate a similar dish I had on the Disney Wonder last year. Animator's Palate served an AWESOME maple glazed salmon over mashed red potatoes with a side of steamed green beans that was TO DIE FOR (and that's saying a lot since I am not a huge fish fan!)!!! This recipe didn't even compare (IMHO). The sauce is only mildly sweet. There seems to be too much garlic (and I LOVE The stuff - 40 clove garlic chicken please!!!). Since my fiance picked up 1 lb. worth of salmon steaks, I used those instead, but would have prefered filets. I pretty much followed STARFLOWER's directions exactly except for wrapping each steak (there were two) in a double thickness of aluminum foil and drizzling with just a little of the maple syrup/glaze. I baked them, covered, for 20 minutes and then broiled, slightly opened for another 3. I made a sauce with the remaining glaze by heating over med-high heat and adding 1 T cornstarch mixed with 2 T cold water. I'm sure glad cleanup was a breeze because I don't think the end result would be worth it otherwise. Served with Country Crock brand mashed red potatoes and Green Giant honey carrots I picked up in my grocer's frozen foods section (I wanted dinner to be quick tonight), this was an "OK" meal. Thanks for sharing your idea, STARFLOWER :)

Soooo good! I recommend cooking it a little longer so it gets more of a glaze.

just finished the dish with a few drops of sauce left on the plate. It Is So Good That I Bit My Mouth. only had frozen salmon so left it out on the counter for 30 in marinade to defrost a little and increased baking time to 30 min. came out perfect. had it w/ lemony french beans. good to balance off the sweetness of maple syrup. this will be easy to make 10 or even 20 times more for a dinner party.

I've been making this recipe for years, and it always gets two thumbs up! I change up the recipe a little (minced onion instead of minced garlic, double the measurement; garlic powder instead of garlic salt, reduced to half the measurement), and grill instead of bake. I wrap the salmon in tin foil and place on the lowest rack of the barbeque for about 20 minutes. It always turns out perfect!

Fantastic recipe. We'd gotten into a bit of a salmon rut, and I'd been looking for a new way to serve it for awhile. This really fit the bill. It was SO good. Even my 2 year-old and 4 year-old gobbled it up!
