These muffins are amazing. I've learned from making various apple muffin recipes to always up the spices, so I added another 1/2tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp cloves and 1/2 tsp nutmeg also. I did not add the frosting as I'm hoping to have these as a breakfast treat. I used walnuts in place of pecans and added raisins. Very tasty, especially warm.

These are awesome muffins. I love maple flavor and these are great. I love the glaze. I was making some apple cookies that required a glaze as well and I used this glaze with a little bit of vanilla extract for the cookies too. fantastic recipe. However, it took much longer to bake than 18-20 minutes. I think I had mine in for 28 and they still seem like they could have used a little more time. Perhaps that's because I filled my muffin tins completely full. If I hadn't though, I would have had about 15 muffins instead of 12 and they would have been tiny. These didn't rise much.

I'm going to consider myself the aberrant reviewer that didn't like the glaze with these... mine was really goopy and I didn't like the overpowering maple flavor. I was very happy I tried it on a sample before I put it on all of them. Other than that, it was a yummy muffin.

Love them!!!! My kids equated them to a cupcake because of the drizzle, but they are so much better for them. I will be making these often!

YUMMY! I did add about 1/4 cup of apple sauce to moisten the muffins & about 1/4 cup of flaxseed meal to give it some hidden nutrition. This recipe was awesome! I also didn't melt the butter.

I thought these were pretty good. Family didn't like them though. I found they didn't hold together very well and were kind of crumbly..not sure where I went wrong

It had good flavor, but my family did not like it. at all. I am thinking, though, that the problem is my family does not like oats inside the muffins - that seems to be the common factor in all the non-winner muffin recipes here.

This is the first year we've gotten apples off our tree and I've been looking for apple recipes. These are the BEST apple muffins I've made. I didn't change a thing. Biting into one is paradise. They are so moist and I love the maple flavor with the apple and oats. Thank you for sharing this recipe!!

These are delicious! I made them tonight and loved them! Note, if you elimate the apples in this recipe like I did for one muffin, it will rise considerably and look much much nicer then the ones with apples in them. Next time, I'll also try cutting the apples smaller. I made them into about 1 1/2 cm cubes but they were a little too big for my liking. If you omit the apples all together, they are fantastic! I make them for breakfast all the time now! ^.^

These were a big hit. They freeze well. We are only 2, and we can`t eat that many muffins at once. I used fresh apples that we picked ourselves.

These were so good! I did notice there was no salt called for, so I added 1/2 tsp and I think I would have missed it if I hadn't. I used brown sugar instead of white. Had a little crumb mixture left-over from making an apple crisp so I sprinkled that on top of muffins prior to baking and added imitation maple flavoring to the glaze as some reviews indicated that the maple was not strong enough. I will make these again and again.

I just made this recipe for the first time. These muffins are great! Another reviewer had noted that they could be a little more moist, so I added 1/4 cup of apple cider. It made the batter rather runny, but the muffins are moist and delicious!

These muffins are very good. The glaze really tops them off. They could stand to be just a little more moist. I might do some tweaking. But overall a great recipe.

I made these to use up some apples, and my husband loved them! I got 18 muffins out of the batch - maybe because I went heavy on the apples? I don't think the glaze has a strong enough maple taste - maybe I'll use more syrup next time. Overall, they're pretty tasty.

Loved these. The maple flavour isn't too sweet -it's subtle and delicious. I made some changes to make these more nutritionally dense: I added 1c grated carrot with the 2c apple, increased the flour to 1.5c, and subbed 1c whole wheat flour for regular. I also subbed canola oil for the butter and threw a handful of dried cranberries with the nuts into the batter. They are still sweet enough that my kids gobble them up, but they pack a heftier nutritional punch. Thanks for sharing the recipe!!
