Made as is. Very salty. Do not add the 1 Tbsp to filling. 1 tsp would probably be ok.

This is an amazing recipe. I did make some adjustments to enhance the recipe to my liking. First I used chicken instead of ground beef. I bought one of those pre cooked chickens from the super market and it had great flavor to begin with and added great texture with the spinach. I also took the suggestions of others and added some mozzerella cheese into the mixture that you use to stuff the manicotti and saved some to melt over the top. Definatly a messy recipe, or maybe it was just because it was my first time, but I will definatly make again!!!

This recipe was great I made half with spinach and half without. I also added a pound on italian sausage to the meat. I added a hand full of mozarella and hanf full of parmesean, romano, etc. chesse mix! I have to admit the white sauce kind of scared me but it was really yummy:) I have a friend that hates alfredo becuase the sauce is similar to that I was afraid she would not like it but it was a hit. My husband hates spinach and loved it. I thought it was a simple recipe with lots of flavor. I will make it again for sure!

Totally awesome. The white bechamel sauce used in this recipe is now my go to. It has so much flavor. This recipe is great to prepare ahead of time, refrigerate, and then serve right before company comes.

This was the first time I have ever made manicotti, and I will never use another recipe...I didn't change a thing and I can't wait to make this for family to show off my skills! DEVINE!......................UPDATE......... I used this filling with stuffed shells (at my 9 yr olds request) and instead of ground beef i used italian sausage, the sausage gave it a great flavor. This has become a family favorite!

We loved this dish. I did some of the prep work the night before to cut down on time. I cooked the meats the night before using beef and spicy Italian sausage with the onion and garlic, then reheated and added the rest of ing. the following evening. I also used a combination of ricotta and small curd cottage cheese. Thanks so much for the post.

Awesome recipe. I was cooking for a vegetarian who doesn't eat parm cheese either, so I subbed chopped mushrooms for the beef, and put in extra spinach (I used part frozen and part fresh spinach). It turned out really well, but next time I'm going to try adding sausage (instead of ground beef)! Highly recommend.

My husband made this for me for my birthday dinner and it was great! We both agree that it would have been better with sausage and he topped it all with mozzarella cheese as well. The kids (3years and 1.5 years) ate it up as well - but we did have to tell the 3 year old that it was broccoli and not spinnach :)

This was really good. The other reviewers complained that it took so long to make, but I thought the preparation went very smoothly and was quite fun. Next time I will use 1.5 times the meat. I added Italian seasoning to the beef while cooking, and it could have even used a little more, but was still delicous as is. This would obviously be extremely good with sausage, but that would add way too much fat, so I think I'll stick with the lean ground beef. The white sauce was awesome. This recipe is boyfriend approved, he cleaned his plate and ate all the leftovers.Definitely worth trying, especially if you're a beginning cook like me.

This was my first attempt at Manicotti and turned out great. I used 50/50 hamburger and italian sausage. I also added oregeno, italian seasoning, and marjoram to the filling. Next time I will use all sausage. I also added a little red pepper for added kick. I overcooked the manicotti I believe because I had trouble with cracking but it didn't affect the taste. The white sauce is superb. Fixed for my share of christmas dinner and the impossible to please grandma came back for seconds. Quite a bit of work (for a rookie anyway) but well worth it!

This is so very good! I'm thinking of making this for a rehearsal dinner. I could do some vegitarian and some with meat. The white sauce is great and I am so glad I can finally make a white alfredo-type sauce for pasta! The changes I made are that I also used a small curd cottage cheese (small container), a small block of fresh grated parmasson cheese, italian sausage instead of ground beef, and added a package of motzarella to the cheese mix. I know it is a lot of changes, but we all make do with what we have. Since I added so much, I used a second box of pasta and stuffed them for the freezer! I will make additional sause when we have those. And WE WILL because this was incredible resteraunt quality food.

I love this dish. I have made it many times. The only changes I made was adding a bit of Tex Mex spice to the filling (just for a tiny bit of spice) and I used fresh spinach instead.

Excellent recipe. My dinner guests loved it. I used turkey sausage in the recipe rather than beef. Not one serving of manicotti was left. Thanks for the great recipe - the extra work was worth it.
