Mandi's Cheesy Potato Soup Recipe Reviews - Allrecipes.com (Pg. 1)

This was really good. As written, a 4-star rating. I added half of a beef bouillon cube to the water, and had half a zucchini that needed to be used, so I threw that in as well. Plus a bit extra of the carrots and celery (a whole celery stalk, and two medium carrots). Left the skin on the potatoes, too. Super, super delicious. Oh, and I didn't have any pre-made steak seasoning, so I found a recipe which called for hot pepper flakes, dill, coriander, peppercorn, and garlic powder, all of which I chucked in liberally. Got raaaave reviews.

Both my husband (vegetarian) and I LOVED this soup. Only change is I used 1 can of vegetable broth instead of water (about 2 cups) and added half a small onion to potatoes when boiling. Thanks for the great recipe, will definitely make again.

I took this recipe as my base and made several changes. I made a rue with the steak seasoning, flour, milk, added pepper. I took half the soup stock and put in blender to puree then added back to stock with remaining potato chunked stock. Then added the rue and cheese. This was very yummy. I then divided the soup and in another pot with half the soup i added brocolli. This was soooo yummy. Great base recipe. Thank you. 5 star on base and 5+ on changes.

This recipe is pretty good as-is, but it's not great. To make this recipe excellent, you have to add bacon. Crumbling in a few strips before adding the cheese brings out the flavors of the recipe and adds a smokey flavor that really accents the cheese.

This was delicious! I added about 1/4 cup finely chopped onion and two (cooked) strips of bacon, chopped fine. You can add more bacon if you want. You can also add more spices if you want, since potato soup tends to be on the bland side. I prefer my soups smoother, so I put the potatoes and carrots through the food processor first, to get them really small. The chunk size is up to you! Will definitely make this one again!

Great soup! I used butter instead of margarine and chicken broth in place of water. We cleaned our bowls! Thanks for a simple and delicious recipe :)

Needed more flavor and wasn't very cheesy. Definitely would be better with some bacon and green onions, even though I added red onions and garlic. Still a good potato soup recipe, though.

Amazing potato soup! I had never made it before but have had others and this is by far the best. The steak seasoning really adds awesome flavor. Thanks for the recipe!
