I made it as a lark for a Christmas Pot Luck - and what everyone else said was TRUE - it was gobbled up! I split the recipe and did the stipped cookie and oreos with no clear winner. It was suggested to do the recipe plain - and then use the cookies as the dipper! My first visit to the site and a winner out of the box! fantastic! this is a keeper - but I might not share it!

This an amazing salad! My boys love it and it is so simple. One day I didn't have fudge stripped cookies so I used Oreos. My husband though it was better. Both ways are great.

FABULOUS recipe!! It's also good using oreo cookies or chopped snickers, milky way, or kit kat candy bars.

This is a great salad for kids and adults. I added crushed pineapple, just one can in a doubled recipe(I don't like the taste to be too overpowering) I also added a few bananas. I never had any trouble with the cookies getting soggy, maybe others broke them up too small. You can sub the buttermilk for 2 TBL lemon juice and then milk to make two cups (since I dont usually have buttermilk on hand). I love this recipe because I can always skip dessert after eating it....

This is an awesome dessert-I usually use Oreo cookies instead of fudge-striped which everyone always likes. The key is to make sure the mandarin oranges are drained really well.

I am giving this 5 stars because it was very popular at the family reunion. This is a very sweet salad. You could serve it as a desert easily. I used a chocolate chip striped cookie which worked fine. I also think if you don't have buttermilk go ahead and use milk the salad actually will be lighter and fluffier probably. I also included mini marshmallows because my husband wanted a salad with marshmallows so why not?
