This was my very first attempt to make soft pretzels and they turned out amazingly well! My kids and husband loved them. Will do again for sure!

This is a great recipe and the pretzels turn out so delicious. The dough was really sticky, so I had a hard time rolling it out, but still turned out great. Used garlic salt on half, and cinnamon on the other half.

I have made perfect pretzels with this recipe every time, with these changes; Add barely malt extract (1 tablespoon) to the recipe. I so boil the water and baking soda mixture then add the pretzels while mixture is boiling. (IMPORTANT: add soda and water before boiling) When removing I put on a towel so the excess water drips. Also I brush a white egg wash (1 tablespoon water and one egg white whisked together) after boiling. Then I brush butter over them. Put on a pan sprayed with Pam or other cooking spray. (they slip off just fine) This recipe can also be used for great bagels!

DEEELISH! This recipe is wonderful! I read over some reviews before preparing and I thank everyone for their feed back and tips! They turned out great! Now I'll never have to go to the mall for pretzels again!

It was my first time making pretzels. I used a Kitchen Aid mixer to knead the dough. I did find that a 3-foot rope could later be rolled into a 6-foot rope after you let it rise for a while. The texture was delicious with an easy bite, but I think that the pretzels at the mall are usually a bit more chewy. Overall, great recipe! I shaped some of my pretzels into hearts!

I rolled mine in cinnamon and some in fried onions and garlic salt before twisting them up. They both came out so good. Mmmm.

I have tried pretzel recipes before with no success-until now!! These pretzels were great. Instead of shaping them, I cut them into sticks and made some cinnamon and some salt. Be sure and knead for 8 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic!

5 STARS BY FAR!! You have to kneed the dough for 10 min at least. I allowed the dough to rise for 2 hr. I used less flour as well, and added as needed. I will never buy the Pretzle Maker pretzles Ever Again! This recipe is a dead ringer. Even my super picky husband loved them. I could not stop raving about this recipe Thank you Jeannie for posting this. Now if I could only find the honey mustard dipping sauce from Pretzle Maker! hmmmmmmm

These were the best tasting things that I have ever made! And simple, to boot! Placing the dough in the bread machine made it easier than I anticipated. The hardest part was learning to shape them. They come out of the oven hard on the outside, but adding the butter instantly softens them up and make them stay soft. I added myriad toppings, such as garlic salt on some (my personal favorite), salt and pepper on others, plain salt, Parmesan cheese, sugar and cinnamon, cumin and coriander and fennel. What a lovely recipe!
