I made this recipe for Thanksgiving dinner and it was only o.k. for me. The flavour was not to my liking. if I make it again I will leave out the cheese. However I like the concept of making them ahead of time.

I LOST COMPUTER POWER AND HAD TO PUNT: AFTER THE FACT..... used onion salt (rarther than dried onion) 8 tlb butter, sprinkle of garlic powder, and did NOT bake covered 40 MIN!!! I Baked uncovered only 20 min ...with the extra butter! turned out excellent! I don't think you can mess this one up!

This recipe is fantastic! I made this for Christmas dinner and everybody raved over it. Even my nephew, who is a professional chef, said they were awesome and went back for seconds and thirds!

I used this recipe this past Thanksgiving (Canadian) and with the amount of food we serve, I need things made ahead of time. I skipped the onion salt and added grated garlic. The potatoes were creamy, fluffy and tasty the next day after the reheat. This recipe is a "keeper"

Might just be the best mashed potatoes that passed my lips. I just put them together, and I can't stop eating them. I hope I have some left to bake tomorrow night!! I did adjust a little bit to suit our family's taste. I boiled 5lbs.potatoes with 3 whole cloves of garlic and salt to infuse the water with flavor. I tossed out the garlic before mashing. I used one stick of melted butter and added it first to the potatoes (if you add butter first- the potatoes will taste more buttery then if you add it in at the end. I added 1 1/2 tsp salt (we love salt). Cut back on the onion flakes to 2 tsp. I did not want the onion to overpower. They were so yummy, I can't wait to taste them out of the oven. Thanks for a great recipe.

YEA! I love love love this new time-saving recipe! The potatoes were fabulous as left-overs as well. Everyone in my family agreed it was SO NICE to no have to worry about keeping the mashed potatoes warm since in casserole form, they stay warmer longer (or they can sit in a warm oven while you're carving the turkey! These are DELICIOUS! I won't be making these just on Thanksgiving, that's for sure!

Everyone loved them. Made exactly according to recipe except sprinkled Mrs. Dash Table Blend on top instead of paprika. Made the day before for Thanksgiving. Very convenient.

I have used this recipe for YEARS. I found it in a Taste of Home recipe book. I decided to look for it here and this is exactly the same recipe by the same cook. It is fantastic and makes a ton. Everyone raves about the taste, but I like anything that can be done a day before. I also spread the potatoes to make a pretty design on the top. Very pretty and VERY yummy!!! A+++++++ on this one!!!
