If you like the flavor of chickpea flour (besan) in sweets, you will love this halwa. Your kids may gobble it up even before it has a chance to cool down.

Semolina Turmeric Cake (Sfoof)

A Lebanese dessert that is not overly sweet. It is pleasing to the American palate due to it's lack of rose water and orange blossom essence, found in most Middle Eastern desserts. Sahteyn! (bon appetit!)

Bread Pudding II

This bread pudding is very versatile and lovely in texture. Christmas time can inspire a bread pudding by simply substituting a good-quality eggnog for the milk (or part of it). Also add a pinch of nutmeg and mace to produce a sumptuous holiday dessert. Otherwise, enjoy this just as it is with a dollop of whipped cream.
