The first time I made this my family found it to be very bland. The second time I made it, I used the SHARP CHEDDAR deluxe macaroni dinner, I cooked the broccoli and onion in chicken broth and used smoked turkey sausage instead of ham. I seasoned it with a little pepper and added additional chicken broth to the sauce to make a nice creamy soup. The difference was delicious. We made it this way in a Dutch oven with our Cub Scouts at a campfire cookout and they loved it. It won a golden spoon award in the dinner cook off!

Kids loved the soup. A little too watery for me. I will not add as much water to the vegtables.

This is so good! My mom used to make this for me growing up. I now substitute the ham for imitation crab meat, it's amazing!

This is tasty I added a few tablespoons of cheese whiz to the soup while it was cooking and used cooked cheese filled sausages instead of ham.

We make this all the time, and my husband loves it. And of course the kids do too. Sometimes we substitute a pound of ground beef for the ham for a cheeseburger-style soup.

Awesome! Just what I was looking for. I used frozen chopped broccoli and pre-packaged mini cubes of ham (rinsed well to get rid of the excess salt) and it really cut down on prep time. The soup tends to thicken up after sitting for a while, almost to the consistency of slightly runny regular mac and cheese, so be sure to cook the noodles well ahead of time, the full 10 mins. I would say my total prep time was no more than 15 mins. Thanks for a great recipe!

Easy and quite tasty. The older I get the more I wan to eat anything out of a bowl and with a spoon, I don't know why. but this is simple enough and quick enough I can do it at the last minute and enjoy.
