These were excellent and easy to make with my 2 1/2 year old. I added an extra 1/4 cup of applesauce, but other than that followed the recipe exactly and they turned out great. I think we'll have to try them with raisins next time, as my son won't eat blueerries.

I've never tried this recipe, but I'm giving LEMONY'S review 5-stars for being HILARIOUS. Love the wit. UPDATE: Just tried it, and it's GREAT. Used 1/3 cup of applesauce and one mashed banana. Also used all whole wheat flour and added the zest of one lemon. They were healthy and delicious. Makes you wonder why people are still using high-fat recipes when the ones with significantly less fat taste (debatably) better. I love finding new, healthy, and VERY delicious recipes. Thank you for posting!

How can something so healthy taste so good? Only problem - with no oil or butter in the muffins, they really stick to the paper liners.

These muffins are killer! The only thing I did to sex em' up a bit was add 1/2 tsp more baking soda and a I topped them with a strudel: 1/4 cup oats, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 2 tsp butter, and a dash of cinnamon. They would of been good without the strudel, but I think it kicked em' up. These would be great with other berries and I think I'll try them with apples or bananas next time! Love these little jewels!

I make these and eat 2 for breakfast with yogurt and a banana. I don't use sugar, I add a banana instead and I use all wheat flour. I also am know on occasion to forget the blueberries when shopping so I use a 1/4 cup of raisins when in a pinch and they are just as good. Yummy

I add nutmeg, cinnamon, & 1/2 c. nuts. Sometimes I double the blueberries or use other fruit (like apples). I also often use a banana or yogurt instead of the apple sauce. Make them all the time & love them!

Yummy! I had to substitute the wheat/bran for all bran cereal soaked in the milk. Very good muffins and good for you too! The low fat and high fibre content with the whole wheat flour, all bran and blueberries is fantastic!

these came out very good. I didn't have applesauce so I added yogurt for moisture - just perfect. I also added some flax to make them extra healthy.

(update 4/12/09) i used blueberries this time and it was much better. still very sticky, so paper cups don't work well, but much more tasty. (old, 2 star) i used only white flour, added some cinnamon, and used golden raisins instead of blueberries. the consistency was somewhat rubbery, and i didn't like the golden raisins. will try again with blueberries.

These muffins are great! We simply love them. My wife is on weight watchers, these work out to 1 point each! She eats two every day! We have also subbed out the blueberries for very finely chopped apples, and added cinnamon. A sprinkle of quick oats on top, and a bake, and you have GREAT low fat, low calorie, high fibre muffins. These are delicious, and so very good for you. We both eat them daily, my wife has lost 40lbs. and I have lost 30lbs. Fantastic recipe!

Yum yum! These are great, moist, and very tasty. I added lots of berries, which kept them even more moist! I am currently doing weight watchers, and at 3 points for 2 muffins, they are a great breakfast! Will definitely make again.

This is a great muffin. Used some of the suggestions right off the bat. I substituted 1 mashed banana for the apple sauce, used half of the amount of brown sugar and about a 1/6 cup of honey, used 1 cup of whole wheat flour and omitted the all-purpose flour, and upped the baking powder and soda each to 1 1/4 tsp. Very tasty and moist, I will definitely make this again and will continue to place with this recipe, maybe some chopped apples, dried cranberries...the possibilities are endless!

Just made these and the only changes were using cinnamon flavored applesauce and buttermilk. They were great. The problem I always have with non-fat muffins is that they stick to the paper liners.

Great tasting and very healthy! I used flax powder mixed with water for an egg substitute and substituted some of the sugar for honey to make it healthier. I also used low-fat buttermilk instead of just regular milk.
