Linguine with Savory Meat Sauce

  1. Cook the beef, onion, carrots and garlic in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat until the beef is well browned, stirring often to separate meat. Pour off any fat.
  2. Stir the tomatoes with juice, soup and water in the skillet and heat to a boil. Reduce the heat to low. Cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in the basil.
  3. Place the linguine into a large bowl. Add the beef mixture and toss to coat. Serve with the cheese.

  • Time-Saving: You may substitute 2 cups shredded carrots for the diced carrots in this recipe. Pre-shredded carrots are available in the produce section or salad bar of most grocery stores.

This recipe was good and easy to make, but I would definitely only use maybe 2 carrots next time... this was VERY carroty. It also needed a lot of doctoring up with spices. I will definitely be making this again!

This is very bland. I would omit at least half of the carrots and toss in some roasted red peppers ad maybe some bacon or presciutto. Needs more moisture to, double the tomatos. Add beef broth in place of the water.

I made this recipe as is and my boyfriend and I thought it was wonderful. You really felt healthier eating this as opposed to a rich bolognese. And I served it with whole wheat linguine...super healthy!

Very good. I added beef stock in place of water and i didn't have basil so i used italian seasoning, parsley, and thyme. I also put in half of what the recipes said for carrots. and i added roasted red pepper. turned out very good

This dish was so-so for me. The sauce was easy but I didn't love the taste.b My husband really liked it, but I think it needed more flavor. Spices perhaps? Or more garlic?

A good solution for days when you don't know what to make. Uses things I normally have in the pantry. Quick and easy. A little bland. Used less carrots than called for.
