Call me crazy but I think that the cottage cheese makes this dish so unique and delicious. Although this is not my default lasagna recipe, I use it often and I am always satisafied with the results. I final sprinkling of chopped fresh parsely and shredded basil are a nice and tasty touch to the dish once it has completed baking.

This chicken dish is so good, my family loved it so much! We eat it with french green beans and cranberry sauce. My boyfriend goes nuts over this meal.

I incorporated many of the reviewer's suggestions as well as a few of my own and have to say I finally made a better lasagna than my mother-in-law! This is what I ended up with: 1. I sauteed the onion with 2 cloves garlic (in addition to adding the garlic powder) and also threw in 1/2 a green pepper since it had seen better days 2. I had about a lb. of Italian ground sausage in the freezer that I combined with the ground beef 3. I used 2 cans of fire-roasted diced tomatoes and reduced the water to about a cup. I also threw in basil and a bay leaf per one review. 4. In rummaging through my freezer I found a half bag (about 8 oz.) of froz. spinach that I threw into the sauce. You really couldn't taste it, but I like to think it made it healthier. 5. I took another reviewer's suggestion and slow-cooked the sauce - but on the wood stove since it's still a bit chilly in Maine. 6. Lastly, since I couldn't decide between ricotta and cottage cheese after reading the reviews, I used mostly cottage, but did mix in some ricotta Molto bene!

Very good lasagna. Takes a long time to make. I didn't let the sauce simmer for an hour as that was just way too long to wait for me. My husband really likes it and it wasn't very hard, just time-consuming.

Sooo easy and delicious! I used 15oz whole milk ricotta cheese instead of cottage. I baked it for 20 minutes the night I made it, then the next night I put it in the oven for 10-15 minutes, and then another 15 minutes with the added mozzarella cheese. (Don't go straight from fridge to oven though. Let it sit out for an hour or so, or else the middle will still be cold). I was worried that I didn't make extra sauce, but it was perfectly delicious as-is!

This is a really great recipe! All of my children love it. I didn't have to change a thing. It takes a while to fix. I have to plan ahead if I want to make it, I can't wait til the last minute to whip this up. It is worth it though. You can use the sauce for noodles or other italian recipes.

This was my first time making lasagna, and I had to make it for 10 people! This was pretty good. I doubled the recipe and used half cottage cheese and half ricotta (and still with the parmesian cheese called for) and it tasted great. I just mixed it up real good w/ a fork to get a creamier consistancy. Since I doubled it I ended up just buying a bulk of 3lb motz. cheese and ended up using the whole thing! I didn't boil the noodles; instead I soaked them in the same 9x13 pan I planned on cooking the lasagna in with VERY HOT water for 30 minutes. Worked perfectly! The one thing that kinda turned me off was the "sweetness" of the oregano. Maybe I'll use a little less next time. I made this on Sunday and had leftovers the next night and it was sooo much better! It's so weird how that is! Next time also I will make it a day ahead of time so all the flavors soak and mesh together. Give this one a try, you won't be disappointed!!

First time I ever made lasagna and it turned out great. I made it for large group of my family and they all thought it was wonderful. Very simple to make even though the sauce has to simmer for an hour. I actually needed that hour as I was putting together an entire meal and it allowed me time to prepare everything else. Absolutely no changes necessary!

Overall it was a delicious lasagna recipe. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because I found the recipe ended up making a little too much sauce for our taste. Next time, I will just adjust it slightly so that we get a little less sauce. Other than that, it was absolutely delicious!

FABULOUS! Next time I will reserve more sauce for the top, the edges of my noodles got a little dry when it was time for reheating in the microwave. Everyone loved it!

This was my first time making lasagna and I was extremely pleased. The only thing I left out was the onions [not a huge fan] but other than that, I followed the recipe to the T and it was delicious. Even my boyfriend, who swore no one could beat his mom's lasagna, has changed his tune. Great recipe!
