It's fruity, fluffy and fun. It's not the best gelatin salad I've had, but it's fast, easy and inexpensive to make, making this the perfect salad to feed a crowd. It sets just fine. Note to those who can't buy whipped topping in 8oz containers, 8oz of whipped topping is equal to approx. 3 cups.

I usually make the version of lime gelatin salad that has cottage cheese in it. This one sounded like a nice change of pace. I made it for our annual Julebord (Christmas buffet). Almost all of it was gobbled up and I was pleased to hear how much people liked it. I didn't change a thing. It was luscious, light and fluffy-- perfect for a holiday salad. Will definitely make again.

Really good! I didn't have time for the Jello to thicken, so I just whisked in the Cool Whip at the end. As expected, the fruit and nuts sank a bit, but still it was delicious. I loved the nuts, and I chopped them fine enough that even my nut-hating son thought it was good! I ladled the mixture into individual clear cups. Very pretty.

We're broke for the next.....while and we all wanted something a little sweet today that used on hand ingredients and this is what came up when I used the Ingredient Search on this site. I used sugar free Jello, reduced fat cream cheese, organic canned fruit, Diet Fresca and "lite" whipped topping. Using the lighter ingredients didn't affect the end product and it was just....great. It was like a fluffy church salad in bar form. This was SO yummy. I bet this would be good with mini-marshmallows, chopped bananas or fruit cocktail, too.

I made this last night and boy did it take me back to my childhood when my Mom made it. It was easy, delicious and I want to eat more right now! I did omit the mandarin oranges and used a 20 oz can of crushed pineapple. Wonderful, thank you Louise for the recipe.

Fantastic! I have never made jello salad with mandarins before but it turned out great. It jelled perfectly, served cut into squares on lettuce leaves. My guests ate it with their Thanksgiving dinner and as dessert.
