My family liked it. I give the recipe as is 3 stars as it was written, but 4 stars when we doubled the spices and added veggie broth instead of water. My kids suggested adding potatoes for something to really bite into.
We served this with rice on the side (I ate this more like a stew while hubby enjoyed it as a soup), baked marinated tofu slices (Terry Hope Romero recipe from Vegan Eat World), vegan banana bread for dessert (Post Punk Kitchen) and sweet tea/chai tea. We'll make this again but not often. It makes a lot, plenty to share with neighbors/friends!
