I would consider making these again with some changes though. Even with adding about 1/2 of fresh lemon juice more and about 1 tbsp of lemon zest, the lemon flavor still didn't quite give the 'pow' i was hoping. also. i added about 1 tbsp of vanilla, and they added a great extra flavor! I may also consider taking the flour down a notch though because after they were baked you could still taste it. Though overall, they are quite enjoyable!

This is an AMAZING recipie. Baised on other reviews I added a bit of lemon zest and a couple drops of lemon extract. I also used slightly less poppy seeds than the recipie calls for, and don't think I will add more in the future. Its also really easy and fast. I was confused about what the recipe meant, I cut the wheel then moved it to the tray, leaving pieces touching where I had cut, then the broke along the lines where I had cut nicely when finished, maybe this is apparent, but I was confused by it.

Perfect shortbread recipe, melt in your mouth delicious. I am a big fan of shortbread and these are top notch. Just don't roll the dough too thin or the cookies will crumble too easily. I added 1/4 tsp of lemon extract to intensify the flavor and left out the poppy seeds.

Exceptional recipe - very delicate yet perfectly paired flavors. I bumped up the lemon flavor a bit - I used lemon juice (2 Tablespoons), lemon zest (2 teaspoons) AND lemon extract (1 teaspoon)- the combination was a wonderfully complex, rounded out lemon flavor. Highly recommended recipe.

Love this shortbread!!!!! Will use again every year. Very kid friendly since there are not any eggs. I did use 1/2 tablespoon of lemon juice and 1/2 tablespoon of lemon extract. Lechgrti

I really liked these cookies. I added a glaze on top to add some sweetness. Tasted the lemon, nice textured - good recipe!

Rated a 4 because I didn't taste the lemon flavor at all. It was really yummy though and the poppy seeds added perfect flavor.

A few too many poppy seeds for me, but a great taste otherwise. Definitely a keeper!

Great recipe! So easy to make and so good! I left out the lemon and poppy seed because I was in the mood for just plain ol' yummy short bread cookies. I will definitely throw in the lemon next time.

Perfect texture and taste! Light but not too crumbly. My additions were lemon zest and a bit of vanilla extract, and I left out the poppy seeds. The dough was very wet and needed a lot of flour for rolling, but maybe this is because I used too much lemon juice (I just squeezed out a whole lemon). Otherwise followed recipe exactly and it was delicious!
