Lemon Bars
SUBMITTED BY:
Denise Baumert
"Memorable family meals were complete when these tangy bars were served, my husband remembers from his childhood. That's still true today for our family. Their sweetness rounds out the meal, but the lemony flavor keeps them light. Don't expect many leftovers once family and friends taste these bars!"

Yummy, just made these tonight and should have doubled the recipe. Buttering and flowering the pan was the only changes made and they cut and came out beautifully. I want to add some lemon zest to the recipe next time for a more lemon flavor but good as is too. thank you for Sharing

I just made these tonight, exactly by the recipe, and I'm very disappointed. They were overbaked, and very bland. I'm a big lemon bar fan and have had better luck with other recipes on this site.

Great bars. We used half lemon juice and half Nelly & Joe's key lime juice with some lemon zest. Worked beautifully. The recipe was vague on cooking instructions. We poured the filling on the crust right out of the oven and parchment paper made removing the bars easy. Crust is crumbly but that improved when the bars sat overnight. Good luck on waiting that long.

Followed recipe exactly. Crust stuck and crumbled coming out of pan, and they ended up a mess. Filling was OK, but not as lemony as I thought it should be. REALLY disappointed in this recipe, won't try again.

They tasted great, once I got them scraped out of the pan, but I wasn't able to serve them with my Christmas Cookies because they looked like a mangled mess. Maybe I should have greased the pan, but the recipe didn't call for it.

Loved them. Left in oven too long and accidently added 1/4 stick too much butter and still turned out wonderful.
