This recipe uses two unusual ingredients: sumac and purslane. I find them at farmer's markets. Fattoush is a Lebanese salad, good for hot weather.

This light salad of Lebanese origin is a big favorite. Crunchy fried pita chips add delightful taste and texture. And a lemon and white wine vinegar dressing makes a snappy, light lunch or dinner.

This is the Lebanese version of cream cheese, a lot tastier and lower in calories. Serve on a plate, sprinkled with olive oil, olives, tomatoes, cucumbers and mint. Or simply spread it like cream cheese on pita bread.

A traditional Lebanese dish of baked chicken and potatoes, which I learned from my mum. Unbelievably simple, but ever so delicious.

This sauce, using only garlic, salt, lemon juice, and oil, can be used as a condiment on grilled meats, as a salad dressing, and in dishes that require good garlic flavor.

Lebanese Garlic Sauce

This is a garlic powered lemony dressing. Serve with meats, as a seasoning in salad dressings or on pocket bread sandwiches or tear off pieces of pita bread and dip in it. If sauce separates while in storage, just stir or blend again.
