Made this tonight. It really did taste like lasagna. A very good weeknight recipe. Only change was rotini for the macaroni. My 13 year old ate 2 HUGE portions! A big hit!

Yum!! I thought this was really good. My kids loved it too. Tasted like lasagna. It made lot, so we had leftovers for a couple days.

My family really enjoyed this recipe. It tastes great the next day too. It did make more sauce than is needed, though. I just saved the rest to use as spaghetti sauce for another dish.

Tasted like Lasagna, and very simple to make. Also made for great leftovers. Would make again.

This one got mixed reviews in my family. My 9 year old daughter hated it. I thought it was just okay. My husband really liked it. The bread crumbs on the top did not look apetizing but they tasted okay. I am not sure if I will make again.

Great family recipe! We love how different this dish is to a traditional italian recipe. The cheddar cheese really makes the difference! Don't let the time it takes to prepare scare you....it's a very easy recipe, and the sauce can certainly be made ahead of time to speed up the process.

This is a nice twist on a traditional Italian meal and relatively simple to make. The cottage and cheddar cheese as well as the chili pepper work suprisingly well. I give it four instead of five stars for a couple reasons. 1. I really think it's unnecessary to cook it as long as the recipe suggests. I simmered the sauce for 30 minutes and baked it for 30 minutes. With the time in the oven, the sauce is simmering a total of an hour anyway. It's really a simple recipe and 2 hours cook time is unnecessarily long. 2. I used a 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking dish and even spreading the sauce very sparingly there was not enough for three layers by far. There was an uneven amount of pasta vs. sauce. I would use more tomatos next time, probably another can of crused tomatos.

This was very good! I misread the directions and ended up doing three layers each of the meat, macaroni and cheese layers...it still turned out well. I added extra Cheddar and Parmesan cheeses and added a few sprinkles of Creole Seasoning to the meat mixture. Yum!

This was spectacular! It is good old fashioned comfort food! I will definitely make it again. I might add some green pepper to the sauce (personal preference) and, I might double the topping. I like the sauce on its own merits and, I might make it to serve over rice or pasta some time. Thanks for the recipe!

This was one dish all my family would eat, and I can count on one hand the number of dishes this is true of. I used a jar of spaghetti sauce rather than creating the sauce in the recipe to save time, and I think I ended up with more liquid than the original intention of the recipe, but it was NOT to the detriment of its taste! I also forewent the breadcrumbs. My husband has been describing this dish to me for years, as his late mother used to make it for him and it was one of his favorites. He said "you nailed it" and enjoyed every last bite of the leftovers for the next 2 days.

this is pretty delicious! instead of using ground beef, i used yves veggie ground (1 lb). i didn't cook it for an hour because with the veggie ground, it's already cooked so that cuts down on the cooking time greatly. it tastes more like a lasagne. the clean up after is a bit of a mess but it's worth it! i'll definitely make this again!

This casserole had a fresh, delicious taste. I made mine with Italian sausage because that was what I had on hand, and I topped it just with the Parmesan because I don't care for butter-and-crumb toppings. I will most definitely be making this wonderful casserole again!
