INGREDIENTS
1 (18.25 ounce) package chocolate cake mix
1 cup chopped nuts
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

DIRECTIONS
In a mixing bowl, combine dry cake mix, nuts, oil and egg; mix until crumbly. Set aside 1-1/2 cups for topping. Press the remaining crumb mixture into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking pan. In a saucepan, combine milk, chocolate chips and salt. Cook and stir over low heat until chips are melted. Stir in vanilla. Spread evenly in pan. Sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture. Bake at 350 degrees F for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool before cutting.

I tried these bars tonight and while they have a fabulous flavor and an ooey gooey middle, the texture as a whole is just so-so. They are definitely more of a crumbly bar than a brownie (neither fudgy nor cakey) and they do crumble quite easily. They are very quick and quite delicious though! Thanks for sharing!

Overall this is a very tasty recipe. After reading the previous review I decided to alter this recipe a bit. I followed the directions except for one step- after taking out the 1 1/3c of the mixture for the topping, I blended in an extra egg. Result: moist brownies, not crumbly!
