Very good! We used lamb, and it was great! Well worth the time! Now, for the geography conflict...Armenia is between Turkey and Azerbaijan, and above Iran. It is also below Georgia, which used to be part of the Soviet Union. I hope that this settles everything! Happy cooking!

I usually don't review any of the recipes from this site, but I had to respond to the comment below. Armenia is in the Middle East. Oh, and the dish was pretty tasty, but too time-consuming for me to make it on a regular basis.

Actually this is not armenian recipe.It's very middle eastern. They make this all over middle east. And this is not the real recipe. It would be hard to write the ingredients because they are hard to find it in US.

i've never had this type of dish before, so i wasn't sure what to expect. the combination of meat, vegetables and spices is good (i added a little extra cayenne). the bread is very simple to make as well. for a simple dinner/appetizer, this is a good recipe because it's pretty simple.
