My mom and I have made this many times, and each time we change it a little bit. Sometimes we add some cooked penne, tomatoes, fennel seed, tomato sauce, etc., leaving out other ingredients (such as the Worcestershire). It's a really adaptable recipe and it's fun to make!

My husband and I love this recipe. I found it in Taste of Home years ago. I add half the brown sugar because it just seemed like it would be to sweet, but it is still good. I have added celery, cabbage, and many other veggie's as well. I serve this over rice.

This was fast, easy and tastey. Best of all, I had every ingrediant in my pantry. They only change I made was to cut the brown sugar from a 1/4 to 1/8. I left all the other measurements the same. It had that sweet/savory thing going on without being overly sweet. I have learned on this site to cut the sweet in half. Thanks for sharing. I will make this again.

We added about two teaspoons of chipolte sauce to spice it up a bit and it tasted great!

This was a very nice change of pace from plain old "kielbasa and Kraut." I doubled the recipe and added a jar of pickled cabbage and it tasted great!

Yummy! Just needed to increase the amount of sauce. Used northern beans. Worked great.

In changing this recipe up a bit, my family loved it! I added 2 small diced, sauteed chicken breasts, 1 can diced tomatoes, seasoned with basil, oregano and garlic. And I omitted the ingredients for the sauce. I served on top of egg noodles and sprinkled with parmesan cheese. Definitely a recipe worth keeping!

My husband and I enjoyed this but the kids did not. Next time I'll use great northern beans as they're of a softer texture than the white kidneys. We liked the sweetness of the sauce using the full 1/4 c. of brown sugar.
