When made with just the vodka and triple sec (orange liqueur) this did not taste at all like a kamikaze. Too the ingredients when served at room temp was not tastey. I added 1 fluid ounce of Rose's lime juice and another .5 fluid ounce of vodka and put all ingredients in an ice filled shaker then strained and it was great ... 5 stars with changes.

This is a recipe for an orange flavored shot of vodka, not a kamikaze. I'm a bartender, and I've found that 2 oz vodka, 1 oz triple sec, 1 oz of lime juice and my secret--a quick shot of sweet n' sour--makes the perfect kami, without the harsh kick. YUM!

Equal parts of the triple-sec is way too much. A shot of vodka with about a thrid to a half shot of triple sec.A dash of fresh lime juice or Roses's lime should also be added. Pour all ingredients over plenty of ice in a metal or glass mixing cup, stir well with bar spoon and strain and pour. Salut!

Dear textheavy, Triple Sec is also known as an 'orange-flavored' liquor.

I've had a number of Kamikazes in a number of bars, and none of them were orange flavored. Kamikaze is a lime-flavored drink, usually consisting of 1.5 oz Vodka, 1 oz Triple Sec, 1 oz sweetened lime juice (or sweet/sour mix) and a lime wedge squeezed in before serving.
