Original Recipe Yield 36 meatballs
 

Ingredients

  • 1 cup KELLOGG'S* RICE KRISPIES* cereal
  • 2/3 cup non-fat dry milk powder
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  •  
  • Sauce:
  • 1 (14 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup sweet pickle relish
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Directions

  1. Combine cereal, dry milk, onion, ketchup, egg, salt and pepper. Add beef, mixing only until combined. Using level measuring-tablespoon, portion meat mixture. roll into balls and place in foil-lined shallow baking pan.
  2. Bake in 400 degrees F oven about 12 minutes or until browned. Drain off excess fat.
  3. In 4-quart saucepan, combine sauce ingredients. Simmer over low heat 15 minutes, stirring frequently. Add meatballs to sauce and continue simmering uncovered 10 minutes longer.
