This was my first time making rice Krispie treats. I read other reviews of other people on other recipes, which were very helpful. It is important to have a piece of wax paper or something close by when the mixture comes out of the microwave. I suggest you have a buttered spoon nearby to scoop out the mixture from the bowl. You will burn your hands if you try to use your bare hands. I did not find the cool holiday rice krispies, so I used the regular ones. I read someone used fruity pebbles good idea too. I did not use the Licorice because the store was out of white icing so I used Easy writer food decorators. It came out great; I cannot wait to bring it to my friend’s house for Christmas dinner.
