I tried this recipe and found it to be the juiciest roasted chicken. My husband couldn't stop raving about it. I had to make it without the celery and with onion powder instead of salt because didn't have them, and it was still terrific. Next time I'll make sure and try it with celery and onion salt!

It was a complete flop. I even took the baked chicken back to the grocery store and got my money back. I don't understand because I am uually a pretty good cook, at least that is what everyone says. And the chicken would not cook, and I even tried it in a different oven because I thought it was my oven. The chicken tasted awful!!!

This was terrific and simple. I didn't have a whole chicken so I used chicken quarters. I put the butter under the skin and and dotted the extra over the top of all. I put the celery pieces among the pieces. Otherwise, I followed the recipe and got yummy, juicy chicken! A keeper, thanks!

Other than using butter instead of margarine, I followed this recipe exactly. It was, hands-down, the tastiest and juiciest chicken I've ever made. It was very flavourful - didn't need additional seasoning in my opinion. I'm going to try the same with turkey. I used a cookie sheet lined with foil (suggestion by a reviewer) and made a gravy with 1 tbsp cornstarch and 1 cup of water. Really yummy on mashed potatoes &/ rice.

I was pleasantly surprised by how easy this recipe was, but I was absolutely shocked by how wonderful the chicken tasted! Better and much cheaper than a rotisserie chicken. Who'd have guessed it was this simple?

Very moist and flavorful! I followed this easy recipe to a "T" and it came out just perfect! My friend was skeptical about the onion powder, because, like most folks, she has always roasted chickens with just salt and pepper. She was very impressed with the flavor, so if you're on the fence with the onion powder, I recommend giving it a shot. The chicken came out very moist as well. I will give some of the credit to the bird that I used as it was truly free-range, organic, farm-raised, with no hormones or anything like that. Really fresh. My chicken was right at 3 pounds. I will continue to roast chickens in the manner since I see no room for improvement.
