OK full disclousure: I baked this bread in the oven instead of the bread machine. But, my problems with the recipe aren't related to the baking. Overall I was disapointed with the flavor expecially since everyone compared it to the bread at Macaroni Grill, which is awesome. I don't know, maybe it was just not enough herbs? Or fresh would have been better? I felt like it just could have had more flavor. All the ingredient amounts and everything worked fine, so 3 stars for that. I could see this as being a nice bread for sandiches if I ate meat, but since I don't...I prefer the Herbed Italian Loaf recipe from this site as a nice bread to dip with olive oil and black pepper. But thank you for the recipe; it definitely still got eaten up!

I'm now making my fourth batch of this in 2 weeks. I make it into short "baguette" type loaves and use it for subs. It's perfect. I'm a little afraid of overpowering with rosemary so I add less than a full T. Going to try experimenting with some different herbs next time. YUM.

This bread was wonderful! I made it by hand instead of in the bread machine and then baked it in a 9" cake pan (so that there was more crust surface area) at 375 until it was brown. When it came out and was still hot I poked a few holes in the top with a toothpick and then brushed butter over the top and sprinkled a little kosher salt over that. YUMMY!

This was my first attempt at making bread. It was pretty good, but I wonder if it would have tasted more like authentic "bakery" bread if I had used bread flour instead of all purpose flour.

My family liked this recipe. I did change to add milk instead of water and I used fresh rosemary. The crust was great using the milk. Overall, it was very good, I would keep using milk, but next time I will use dry rosemary.

Very delicious, flavorful bread. The top didn't get as crusty as I would like, so I will choose the medium crust option on my breadmaker next time (and there will be a next time). Fabulous recipe. Thank you!

This was really good. Even the kids liked it. I used my bread machine. It has adjustments for various crust levels. I used the light setting. I should've used the medium crust. Its a wonderful bread.

This bread is great. I love the chewy texture with the crispy edges. It is great for sandwiches. It gives any plain lunchmeat sandwich a gourmet taste.

This bread was fantastic, it does taste just like Macaroni Grill! I made this by hand, b/c I don't have a bread machine. I dissolved the yeast in 1 c. warm water, and let sit for 10 minutes. I then added the rest of the ingredients and used the dough hook on my stand mixer to knead the dough. I did have to add an extra 1/2 c. flour, because the dough was too wet looking. I also brushed with olive oil, and sprinkled with coarse salt. My husband dipped his in a olive oil, parmesan cheese, pepper mixture. It turned out great! Thank you for a great recipe!

excellent bread as written. I did try it with 1 cup of whole wheat as another reviewer suggested and that was WAY too much whole wheat flour, the flavor of the herbs was lost. Last time, I also added a few tsp of vital wheat gluten (some of the recipe exchange members recommended this) and it made for an excellent, tender texture. Very good bread!!

OH MY GOSH! This was so so so good! My husband has begged me to make this everyday since I made it. I followed the recipe just as it was written, however, I did bake it in a 375 degree oven for 30 mins instead of in the breadmaker. I've even had a neighbor as she'll pay me to make this for her. Seriously won't be wasting your time trying this recipe it really is that good!

This was fantastic! I made it to go along with the Rosemary-Mushroom Chicken Soup from the latest Pillsbury cookbook, Budget Meals (I think). I love what olive oil does to a bread and it was divine when dipped into the soup (and on it's own). Excellent

Phenomenal bread! I love to serve it with Chicken Vegetable Noodle soup and dunk it in the broth! The combination of chicken with the rosemary in the bread is fabulous! This has become a recipe favorite in our house! Perfect texture and flavor. I think it is best eaten while still warm. Leftovers are good but nothing compared to right from the oven or bread machine!

Like this recipe needs another five star rating but I can't help it. This bread was so good. I've made it three times so for and it turns out great everytime. I use fresh rosemary and I double the amount of rosemary because my family just loves us some rosemary. :) I make this by hand and after it comes out of the oven I brush it with olive oil and sprinkle sea salt on the top.

I make this in the oven, as I don't care for the shape of bread machine loaves. After punching down the first time, I sprinkle sea salt on the dough. Gives just a little bit of punch.
