Directions

  1. To make the marinade whisk the sugar, ginger, garlic, gin, and soy sauce together in a small bowl. To use the marinade, marinate small cuts of meat 3 to 4 hours, and larger ones 8 hours to overnight, turning meat occasionally.

  • Cook's Note
  • To use during grilling, pour the marinade into a small saucepan, and add 1/4 cup of butter and 1 ounce of sweet vermouth. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, and cook for 5 minutes to kill any bacteria. Baste the meat with this marinade while grilling.

I loved it. It has a "just right" taste. I used maple syrup instead of sugar .....same thing...yummy. I used it for chicken wings. Thanks. This time, I didn't have gin & used Tequila, and sugar and again...fantastic. Thanks again John, it's my go-to.

This was amazing on a tenderized cheap cut of steak. Definitely using it again. I am writing this half an hour after I ate the steak and i can still taste the marinade in the back of my mouth (in a good way!).
