Delicious! But it needed something. I'm still trying to decide what.

I enjoyed this recipe very much! I tend to read the negative reviews first to see what I'm getting myself into -- don't be swayed by them. The complaints are fixable! Read the positive reviews for some quick fixes. The suggestions for refrigerating dough, using a wet fork to make the criss cross, and adjusting the bake time due to oven differences really helped! My own two cents: If you have a 1/8 cup scoop (it's often called a "coffee scoop"), use it to dole out the dough into balls. They shape better and make it easier to make uniform sizes. Also, lining the cookie sheet with parchment paper makes a difference in the transfer to the cooling rack as it lessens the stickiness. If you feel like the cookie isn't holding together well, use crunchy peanut butter. I'd never made peanut butter cookies before, but I found this recipe easy and tasty.

Recipe was excellent. Here are some tips. As mentioned by an earlier review, refrigerate dough. Roll dough balls into sugar if desired. Last, let cookies cool completely before removing from cookie sheet. Enough said, this recipe got my attention.

Very soft, actually almost too soft in the middle. The larger the cookie, the softer the middle is, and the more the edges break away from the middle. I will make these again!

Good cookies but a bit on the dry side, kind of a soft/crumbly texture. I doubt any will go to waste but I'll keep looking for one that suits us.

Okay I just made these and they are the BEST PB cookies I have had! I added a bit more flour and a tbs of molasses. I also made a peanut butter glaze to go over them, yummy!!!

I was disappointed with these. The cooking time is way too low - I baked mine for almost 20 minutes. 8-10 min. wasn't even close. And I had to add some flour.

These cookies were ok, but I'll probably try another recipe next time. They came out quite flat and not as peanut-flavoured as I had hoped.

I did an unofficial taste test between these cookies and Mrs. Sigg's peanut butter cookies on this site, following both recipes exactly. These cookies were just ok. They didn't have as much peanut butter flavor as I would have liked and they were a little crumbly and dry. The other recipe won without a doubt. I would make these again if I was short on peanut butter but I'm sure there are better recipes out there.

These are okay. they are little crumbly. I made as stated. I think I like cookies better with a little whole wheat flour in it.

Really good! I used natural peanut butter and it was a bit dry so I added a little extra oil to soften it up a bit and make it more creamy. I will definitely make these again. I also added some extra sugar because of using natural PB.

I've never written a review before -- this is very exciting. Okay, so I'm a woman on a binge and what is my weapon of choice? Ahhh peanut butter cookies. That said....these were the strangest peanut butter cookies I've ever made. I thought maybe I'd done something wrong but it's such a simple recipe there's nothing to do wrong. Someone else mentioned that their batter was fluffy and delicious -- mine too. Thing is my batter was so fluffy and light I couldn't roll the dough into balls. And forget trying to flatten the cookie or add sugar (to enhance the taste as per everyone else's review). Not possible. The most disappointing part was when my cookies exited the oven. They were flat as pancakes and, of course, became flatter as they cooled. This was not the satisfyingly decadent peanut butter cookie of my dysfunctional childhood.

Around 7:30 tonight, I got a major hankering for something sweet. After a quick glance in my cabinet, I realized there were few things I could make. I decided peanut butter cookies would be best and came to allrecipes for help. I tried this one. Not only was it quick and easy, these are quite possibly the best peanut butter cookies I've ever tasted. I used my Kitchenaid mixer to blend the ingredients and chilled the dough a bit while the oven preheated. I baked for 10 minutes and they were perfect. I've already added this recipe to my permanent collection. It's so good.

This was the best Peanut Butter Cookies ever! I don't know how you could end up with runny batter or crumbly cookies... maybe read the recipe more closely. And someone already reviewed and wrote about how she sprinkled sugar on top before she baked them, this was a GREAT idea, and it made the cookies taste really good. I will for sure use this recipe again!

i wasn't really impressed with these...and neither was anyone else who ate them at my house. i used natural pb so maybe it was because of that the flavor wasn't great.
