This was my 1st try at peanut butter cookies, and I'm glad I chose this recipe. It's not too heavy, has the perfect level of peanut butter taste, and stays fresh and soft for days. I used JIF extra crunchy peanut butter.

These tasted alright, definitely peanut buttery enough, but I had the same trouble with baking times as some other reviewers. The tops weren't browned at all, and were barely cooked, but the bottoms were close to being overly brown so I took them out. The texture is a little odd because of that. Maybe I made mine a little too thin and that's why they didn't turn out? I used half all-purpose flour and half whole wheat. I'll keep looking for a perfect peanut butter cookie recipe.

It had been a while since I`d made peanut butter cookies and found this recipe. It`s good...even very good but I don`t think it`s the best pb cookie I`ve ever had. I followed the recipe precisely and had no trouble forming them into balls; I found the dough to be fine to work with using a tablespoon measure. The flavour of the peanut butter is not quite as pronounced as I would have liked and the texture is a tiny bit cumbly but nothing serious. They are otherwise ight and fluffy, not dense. I really enjoyed these a lot but would still look around for that ultimate pb cookie!! Thanks for sharing!

I just made a batch of these cookies and thought they were delicious. Very easy to make. Lovely and soft. I did add a handful of crushed peanuts. Yum!!! Will make these again.

Excellent recipe. I made both the flourless peanut butter cookies and this recipe and I like this recipe better and my boyfriend liked the flourless. These cookies turned out really soft and I like the added chocolate chip in the center. I will be making these again very soon!

Very good recipe! I actually forgot to make the fork imprints as my dog was distracting me... when I look to see how the cookies were coming along, they were all cute and puffy, so I added 3 chocolate chips to the middle before they finished cooking. My boyfriend liked the ones with the chocolate chips better than the ones with the imprints! Happy mistake!

I made this recipe exactly as stated but I put an extra scoop of peanut butter in for good measure (can never have too much PB) they turned out perfect I wouldn't change a thing. I did not have any problem with the dough it was a little soft but plenty greasy so it formed balls beautifully. Im not really sure where some people went wrong but I found the recipe and measurements spot on.

I did not like the taste of these peanut butter cookies. These cookies are to bland, and to chewy.

I'm proud to tell my friends I baked these from scratch! I've been experimenting with different peanut butter cookie recipes and this has got to be my favorite so far. I added 1/4 cup more of flour and kept the rest exactly the same except for the peanut butter I used 1/2 cup creamy PB and 1/2 cup crunchy and they came out perfect. They're slightly crispy on the outside and perfectly soft and chewy on the inside. This is definately a recipe I'll use over and over again.

These turned out funky. I had to keep making adjustments because I didn't find the proportions to be accurate. I wasn't too thrilled with the overall experience but the friends that tasted the cookies weren't complaining.

I see that so many people followed the recipe, but came out with such different cookies! I really didn't care for the taste at all, but the ingredients were simple and it was easy to make. My dough was the greasiest stuff I have ever baked with! I couldn't believe how wet my hands and the dough was. It didn't really feel greasy though, I guess it was just wet. Thank you though, it was an easy and inexpensive recipe.

I agree with some people, it is not really a typical peanut butter cookie. I did as many others suggested and added a little bit more peanut butter, butter and flour. I chilled mine to form balls and the mixture was still just too soft. So I didn't have that criss cross design on them. They sort of had a stick to the roof of your mouth in a pasty sort of way taste. Mine were tablespoon size and I baked them for 9 minutes, almost underdone in the center but golden around the edges. My overall opinion of them is that are great cookies but also a cookie that needs a tall glass of ice cold milk to go along with it.

I'm looking at the 4 and a half star review on this one and scratching my head. Guess I'm just an odd ball, because I didn't even bother to bake the rest of the batter after I tasted the first batch. Not at all what I think of as a peanut butter cookie!

Good! I made them like the recipe says and they turned out very tasty. They were even fine for me to roll between my hands into balls (without using water). Apparently my friend Brittany's fiance Matt loves peanut butter cookies and these were no exception!

These were very good cookies, just not the type that i was expecting. I was looking for the 'traditional' type of PB cookie (ie like that in the better homes and gardens cook book). These cookies turned out really great, even though the dough was very soft (i followed recipe to a t and didn't change a thing). Just keep in mind that although they are a great cookie, they may not be exactly the PB cookie you are expecting.
