Instead of the cheese listed, use a pkg of queso velveeta, and 2 cans of chili (I use one hot and one regular chili), then use packet of taco seasoning (or bill echol's taco seasoning recipe from this site). Can of rotel with chilis and like 1/3 c sour cream is all else u need! (can make this hotter by adding hotter spices)

I altered this to make it pretty spicy. Instead of regular sour cream I used the Santa Fe blend cooking cream, also used the medium spice chili starter and added some rotel. Velveeta spicy cheese and added a chipotle pepper in adobo sauce too. Served with artisan fire roasted chipotle chips. My boyfriend and I both love it. Great football watching treat!

I love this queso. I am a vegetarian so I did leave the meat out. I also made in the microwave which gave perfect results. The sour cream really keeps the cheese from being overwhelming and gives it just a little tartness. Thanks for the recipe!

I followed the recipe as written, except that I added some hot italian sausage to it to make it a bit heartier. To add sausage, remove the casing from one italian sausage and brown the meat while breaking it up into chunks. Then add the meat to the rest of the mixture. I also added a few chopped jalepeno slices to spice it up.

Yummy junk food. Velveeta does have some purpose in the world and this is one of them!

I used half the amount of processed cheese AND sour cream and I used a full can of chili. The boys loved it. They seriously inhaled it.

My husband and I love Chili Con Queso! This was a super easy recipe and it turned out great for being so quick. After making this recipe with canned chili I realized I prefer hommade. It makes all the difference. Still this recipie is great in a pinch! Thanks

This queso recipe is just ok. I was hoping for something like Chili's Queso, but this one didn't really have much flavor or spice to it at all. I won't be making this again.
