Jazzed-Up Gravy
SUBMITTED BY:
Taste of Home Test Kitchen
"When there's no time to make gravy, or you run out of gravy to serve with leftovers, try this lifesaver that makes the most of prepared gravy. You can replace the thyme with poultry seasoning when using chicken or turkey gravy."

This was good, but nothing really special. The jarred stuff tastes just fine without it, but adding these ingredients does give it a little bit more of a homemade taste.

This was a good basic start. I used this for thanksgiving with a mushroom gravy as I am vegetarian and was looking for more than the regular canned stuff. For Christmas I decided to add a few more items to it such as sage and some ginger, that really added to the flavor of it.

I jazzed this up a little more by adding celery when I sauteed the onions and a can of chicken broth to make it go farther. I also added flour to thicken it up once I added the chicken broth. All in all, not a bad gravy for when you fry a turkey at Thanksgiving and don't have pan drippings for homeade gravy!

Very good gravy - not as heavy as using flour but very tasty.

I thought this came out great! It was a quick help on a busy holiday in the kitchen and the flavor was nice. I put a little extra white wine to add even more flavor. Mmm hmm!! :-)

We used Trader Joe's boxed organic gravy. This was lighter in color than I'm used to. I did not like it too much, until we mixed it with the gravy we made from Easy Herb Roasted Turkey drippings. THEN it was excellent.
