I definately thought that the clove was out of place. I would not recommend adding it at all. I also agree with other reviewers that it was not spicy at all. I even have a weak mouth. But I guess nothing quite beats the jerk chicken that I had in Jamaica!!! The best thing about this chicken was that my husband made dinner tonight!

im giving this review a 2 because it had an "ok" taste. everyone i made it for liked it, it was only ok too me. The clove taste was very intense and it was not spicy at all. Everyone agreed it didnt taste like jerk at all. i would advise to add a tablespoon of red curry powder and a bit of red pepper to spice it up.

Loved, Loved, Loved!!! We added a couple of dashes of Cayenne Pepper and the kiwi is a definite MUST. My two year old daughter even loved it. She ate a whole thigh and a wing:)

This chicken was pretty good. Most everyone really raved about it. I found the leftovers were sweeter, but hot off the grill they were tasty. Thanks

I forgot to add the habanero and I cooked it in the oven. The flavour was still fantastic.

My boyfriend is from the caribbean I wanted to surprise him with some jerk chicken which he absolutely loves, this seasoning didn't really do it, not in the oven at least. Maybe on the grill?? Even I found it wasn't that good, I've had jerk chicken many times and this just wasn't it...don't know what would have to be modified though...

When I was in Jamaica, I had jerk chicken. It was well-seasoned, but not spicy hot. In fact, it tasted a lot like the chicken I made with this recipe! I did cut the onion in half. Next time, I will cut the liquid in half and marinate in a plastic bag. I did simmer down my extra marinade and used it to baste the chicken on the grill. That worked well, but I still had way too much. Used dried thyme (1 tsp.) successfully. Well received by our friends and the two toddlers present.

Great recipe, But needs tweaking. WAy to much onion flavor. I cut it down to 3 green onions, and half a white onion. I used red wine vinegar. And also added a little cayenne pepper cuz its kind of sweet. The jalapeno works great, but I also added a couple of tbs of lemon juice to it. Great recipe though, and I marinated for a few hours for more flavor. Thanks

This was great chicken. I allowed it to marinate for 2 days (not on purpose). Wow, what a difference. I do not think it is jerk, but the chicken is fantastic! Everyone loved it! A keeper

We liked this pretty well. We followed the recipe just about to the letter. We added 1 jalapeno and 1/2 of a serrano pepper--both seeded--and used a little less soy sauce. The flavor was good and got good response from our guests but we thought it wasn't quite spicy enough. I think Jerk is supposed to be pretty fiery and this just wasn't. Maybe next time we will not seed the peppers or use more serranos and/or try some habenero. We will make this again though, it turned out really good. EDIT: Okay, I have downgraded this to 3 stars after making it twice. It is a good marinade/basting sauce for chicken but it just isn't spicy. I used a whole large Jalapeno and 3 small Serranos this time. I even left a few of the seeds in--still no heat. It seems like too much work for not enough pay-off. I am off to search for some type of dry rub...

I had to leave out the allspice and cloves because I didn't have them and I also baked the chicken instead of grilling. All-in-all this is a delicious recipe and I will be making this many times.

It wasn't bad, but not what I was expecting. I have made jerky chicken before and either the other recipe is not authentic or this one is just different. The recipe is fine, it is just not what I was hoping for.

It didn't taste nothing like the real Jamaican jerk chicken and wasn't even spicy, but overall it was good.
