THis was a great recipe and we truly enjoyed it. I made a few changes to suit our palette which was to add 1 tsp. cinnamon and 1/2 tsp. cloves. We also mashed 3 bananas instead of the 2 since we do not like chunky bananas in our bread and prefer a stronger banana flavor. I think that if your bananas are smaller you could even do 4. I think that next time we will add more nuts but other than that it was so yummy!!

This banana bread is super yummy! I've been trying different recipes and this one definitely beats them all! I whipped the butter and sugar on high for 2minutes and added 1tsp of baking powder. It made the recipe turn out moist, fluffy, and light. I also added enough bananas to equal one cup and mashed them and used pecans instead of walnuts simply because i like the taste of pecans better than walnuts. This was super delicious.. everyone should have it at least once in their lifetime!

This really is an awesome recipe. I am no betty crocker and the bread turned out wonderful. I followed it for the most part but I used 4 or 5 bananas because I had several that were really ripe and I didn't want to throw them away. I had some left over batter because of the many bananas so the extra I put some semisweet chocolate chips and scooped into a muffin pan which I also baked at 350 but for only about 30 min and those turned out great too. Suprisingly, neither turned out too gooey. Both were perfect!

My roommate LOOOVES banana bread! I tried to make it about a month ago for her birthday using another recipe, and it turned out like banan pudding with a crust - mainly my fault, though. I found this one by looking at top rated banana bread recipes and thought the sour cream idea sounded pretty clever. Tried it and OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS! I baked it last night, and just tried my first piece this morning, after I noticed half was already gone! She LOVED it! I LOVED it! Absolutely Wonderful! I did use 1 cup whole wheat flour and 1/2 cup white flour. Can't tell at all and it doesn't feel as bad when I go back for seconds, and thirds. :]

Perfect!! I put a little extra banana in it as I must have had "large" bananas, not medium!

Very good banana bread- the only tweak I made was that like a lot of other reviewers, I mashed the bananas instead of slicing them- I personally don't like chunks of fruit in my bread. Otherwise I followed the recipe exactly and it was great!

This recipe is simple and it makes the best loaf of Bread I have ever had. Of coures I made a few slight changes: I mashed the bananas, added 2tsp Cinnamon, 1/2tsp nutmeg, and 1/2tsp ginger I like my banana bread with some spice in it and it turned out golden brown and just as moist as any other I ever had. Thanks for the great recipe!

After reading reviews, I made some changes before making this recipe. The changes I made are: I used softened butter instead of melted, 1/2 cup brown sugar to replace half of the regular sugar, added lemon juice, doubled the vanilla, used 3 eggs instead of 2, added a bit of spices, used 3 smaller bananas that I mashed up, and final change, I put an extra 1/2 cup walnuts in the blender and made some nut butter out of it and mixed it in. Just a few difference, I know! Lol. But it came out Wonderfully! I think I could have added more walnuts though, personally I like a bit more crunch and nutty flavor. Aside from that, Perfect!

DELICIOUS! this bread tastes fantastic, great texture, and very easy; made with ingredients readily on hand. only changes: added a teaspoon of cinnamon, used whole wheat flour, and sprinkled oats on top for a bit of a crunch thanks!

WOW!! So happy with the way this recipe came out! I made a banana bread for me and my boyfriend the other night that had me creaming the sugar and butter together and it turned out firm, nice flavor but not the greatest. I LOVED THIS PROCESS. I loved melting the butter and adding the sugar. the last step is what puts it over the top, the folding in of the sour cream, banana and pecans! (I subbed the walnuts for pecans). I mashed the bananas in the sour cream and added pecans and choc chips and folded that into the sugar egg and flour mixture. I WOULD HIGHLY RECCOMEND THIS. Plus, it makes the house smell great.

Typically, banana bread is made with very ripe bananas, and mashed. The rating for this bread is no exaggeration! Its so moist and flavorful; something you would expect for desert at a high class restaurant.

Wow I have to say this banana break isn't the healthiest (a stick of butter?!?) but it is sooooooo delicious!!!! The only changes I made based on recommendations was to cream the butter and sugar together instead of melt the butter. I don't know if this actually makes any kind of difference, but per standard baking rules, it seemed appropriate. I also mashed the banana and did use my mixer to blend everything instead of folding it in to help develop the gluten a tiny bit. My family has eaten just about the entire thing in one day, and this includes a picky 3 year old! Yummy!!!!

My new favorite recipe! I didn't have a loaf pan, but a 8x8 worked just great. I mashed the bananas first, though, rather than slicing. Try adding a handful of chocolate chips to a recipe - decadent and delicious!

Delicious bread. My bread was done at 58 minutes. I used butterscotch in place of the nuts. I also mashed the bananas first because that's what we prefer.

When i first found this recipe months and months ago, i knew it was going to be moist because of the sour cream but this hits a new level! Stays moist all week and tastes amazing. I wait till the bananas i use are withered and black because it gives the bread a rich beautiful banana flavor without having to use like 8 bananas. I now make this bread weekly and its an absolute favorite of my dads. Thank you!

Every time I make this, people (including my husband and I) who have never liked banana bread start to go crazy because they can't get enough of this! This is the most delish breakfast bread, dessert, snack ever! I like to slice three bananas into the batter, omit the nuts, and generously sprinkle cinnamon and brown sugar on top before I put it into the oven. Amazing!

This banana bread turned out great for me! I doubled the recipe using 5 bananas because I wanted a little stronger banana flavor (however, 2 bananas = exactly 1 Cup), I also added some cinnamon, a pinch of nutmeg, allspice and ground cloves. I also added an equal amount of lemon juice (extract) to the amount of vanilla extract. I used mostly whole wheat flour. I pureed the bananas instead of just slicing them and I creamed the butter together with the sugar (instead of melting the butter.)

I made this for church on Sunday and it disappeared SO fast. I liked the sliced bananas and the walnuts in it. The sliced bananas are nice b/c the bananas don't have to be as overripe as with some mashed banana bread recipes. Great for baking for impatient kids!
