I made this for a potluck dinner party that I decided to go to last minute....It was the center of attention. Who would have thought that such a simple salad would be such a charmer? It was just perfect. TIP: don't over-do the dressing. I made a batch for my fiance and I a couple weeks later, and really ruined it with too much dressing.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this recipe! I make the dressing and keep it in the fridge, then I just serve it over the spinach and a sprinkling of cranberries (we skip the nut - we have a nut-allergic member of the family) I eat this about 3-4 nights a week with dinner.

Wow! What a wonderful salad! I love the sweetness and tanginess of this salad. I mixed all of the salad dressing ingredients together and let it sit for a few hours prior to serving the salad, to give time for the flavours of all of the ingredients a chance to mix. I also added the onion and cranberries to the mixture. This will be a regular staple in our household from now on!

This is absolutely an amazing salad that complements just about any meal. I prefer to use baby spinach and I like to use red onions instead. I also top it off with a freshly grated parmesan cheese. Delicious!!

Oh my word. This is so good. I know it doesn't need a five star review, but I just had to write one anyway. It's very versatile - instead of almonds, I've used sunflower seeds, cashew pieces, and pecans (not all at once!). I've used raisins instead of cranberries. I've added mandarin oranges. But it's the dressing that really carries this one over the top. I use 1/2 c red wine vinegar and no cider vinegar, and Splenda instead of sugar. It's absolutely perfect. I mix up a whole recipe, but don't use the dressing until I'm ready to serve it. It holds up very well in the fridge for about 3 days this way, and I've been known to eat it for breakfast. 5 stars, at least.

Love the recipe, found it in the Costco cookbook only difference is that they call for 4oz. Feta Cheese crumbled...I've made it hundreds of times; it's calories but no one seemes to mind.

This recipe was great!Toasting the almonds is a must.Cut the amount of sugar in half as others did.Soaked the cranberries for 4 hours so they were nice and plump when added to the salad. Thanks for the recipe, will use it again for sure

This salad was the hit of our office luncheon. There was none left and everbody wanted the recipe. Can't wait to make it again. Only change I made was to add some gorgonzola cheese which was perfect with the sweetness of the dressing. Terrific, thanks for such a wonderful (and simple) recipe!

Yummy, Yummy, Yummy! I have made this SEVERAl times at the requests of my friends. It is definiely awesome! I add about 3 ounces of blue cheese crumbles as well, and it is much better. I also use half spinach and half butter leaf. Try this recipe...you will love it! It is so easy to prepart the dressing ahead of time as well and refrigerate it until needed.

This salad tasted SO good! I give it a four star rating because of the high sugar content in the dressing. I made it with far less and it still tastes great!

I continually make this salad after finding the recipe a few months ago. It is absolutely fabulous. I have never used poppy seeds, I don't really think they're necessary. Tonight, I didn't want to cut up an onion for 1 TBSP (I halve the recipe - it's more than enough for four people) so I just added about 1/4 tsp of onion powder to the dressing instead. Definitely the best salad recipe I've ever tried!

Love this salad! I used half the sugar and olive oil instead of vegetable oil. I also browned the almonds in the oven as other users suggested and omitted the poppy seeds. Everyone who tried it has asked me for the recipe.

This has to be a case of everyone following the masses. Why has this recipe been on the top 20 for so long? I couldn't wait to try it as all the ingredients sounded good. I love vinegar, but did not care for the salad dressing. So much vinegar and just too overpowering. Since I like vinegar, I gave it two stars. But I serioiusly felt sick after eating it. The only thing I liked were the salty almonds with the sweet cranberries. Just need to cut back on the vinegar or use a different dressing altogether.

Very quick and easy. Burned my almonds trying to sautee them (should have toasted them like other reviewers advised) and used Paul Newmans Rasberry Vingaigrette and was great!!!

OK - I did a total shortcut on this recipe! It was still wonderful. Instead of making the dressing I used store bought - Kraft Creamy Poppyseed. It was awesome!
