Holy ...this salad was THE BOMB! I added cucumber slices, red onion rings, two tomatoes, a whole bag of Craisins, a bag of honey almond slices, and some feta cheese (but didn't put the poppy seeds). I also put a clove of garlic in the dressing and used Splenda equal to about 1/4 cup instead of sugar. I was told this salad was "slap your mama good" :)

This was WONDERFUL - I served this salad for a BBQ last night - it was gone so quickly. I added some crumbled feta cheese to it, but no other alterations!!

I also added crumbled bleu cheese, sliced red onion, and cherry tomatoes. The homemade dressing and salad was a hit with my dinner party friends. They asked for seconds AND the recipe.

The dressing was great. It was boring with just almonds and cranberries, next time I will add tomatoes and red onion.

Yum. Next time I will use strawberries and mandaring oranges. This would make a great dinner with the addition of chicken.

I made this for a family get together. I added feta cheese and that's the only alteration I did. Except toasting the almonds and sesame seeds in the oven. I personally didn't like the taste of the salad, i thought it was too oily, but I'm rating this off of my family's opinion and they loved it.

This salad is quite good and simple, BUT I have had better salads on this site. Not the best salad ever but still really good. Personally, its a bit too sweet, but that's probably because I'm more into a vinegary/lemon salad dressing as opposed to a sweet one. I also think it needs some goat or blue cheese to balance the sweetness.

This is one of the top-rated recipes on this site, and once you taste it, you'll know why. It's quick and simple but soooo good. The only things I alter are limiting the amount of oil in the dressing (to reduce fat) and leaving out the minced onion. I also use whatever nuts I have on hand - almonds, walnuts, etc. Mmmmm!

The salad was good however I did make a few changes. The amount of oil seemed like a bit much so I halved that but wished I took out a little more later on. I used evoo instead of vegetable oil. I also added freshed cracked pepper, shallots, and kosher salt. I believe the amount stated makes WAY TOO much dressing, the amount of dressing that this recipe makes could probably be used for 3 lbs of spinach.

This was tasty, but I think for me the salad needed more "stuff" in it. I think for me this would best suited as a main dish salad with the addition of chicken as well as some other veggies to it next time. The dressing was a tad too sweet for my liking, not horrid but next time I think I'd scale back the sweetener a bit.
