I didn't have plain rice in the house and ended up using a spanish rice from a box. After reading the reviews that called for more spice I decided to add the seasoning packets from the spanish rice also. This turned out wonderful! Also I used hot italian sausage in it. Very good! Cut it in half unless you are going to have 12 people eating it or like to freeze left overs.

I made way to much and it had a hard time cooking. I will cut it in half next time and see if it turns out better. I also would have like it to be spicier.

I used one cup of brown rice and one cup of long grain/wild rice. Omitted browning sauce and used rotel instead of tomatoes and peppers.

My entire family enjoyed this meal. I omitted the browning sauce because I didn't have any. I also omitted the hot sauce so that it wouldn't be so spicy for my children.

This was VERY good and very easy. I used keilbasa instead of smoked sausage because I like it better. I cut it up and browned it a bit with a bit of veg oil prior to adding to casserole. I used dried "Sauce and Gravy" mix for the "Browning Sauce". I also cut up a lemon and placed them on the top of the casserole to bake. The recipe freezes great! I froze in portions and defrosted at 70% power and it was wonderful!

Very good! Spicy! I loved it, my two children (ages 2 and 4) were not of the same mind though. This makes ALOT of food! It was very filling and really hit the spot, with the amount of leftovers we have, we will most likely be eating on this for awhile or giving some of it away!

I love this recipe! My husband and I had this for dinner tonight and really enjoyed it. I am a New Orleanian and have my own recipe for Jambalaya, but loved the idea of cooking it in the oven so I had to try it as soon as I saw it. The recipe is perfect as is, but I did not have the fresh tomato, so I used a small can of Chunky Rotel tomato instead (I made the recipe suitable for 6), and love the extra spice it added. Thanks for generously sharing your recipe!!!

Easy and tasty dish. My changes: I didn't have any browning sauce..not even sure what that is. Didn't have any kind of hot pepper sauce so I susbstiuted some cayenne pepper. Didn't have the green onion or fresh tomato. I used diced tomatos (canned). After sauteing the veggies I added the rice and let that brown a little bit before adding the chicken stock. It seems to help the texture and flavor of the rice.

This was quite good! I only made a third of the recipe and it was plenty of rice, next time I will probably add more sausage. I actually softened the onion , green pepper and celery in the 6T of butter then added the rice and chicken broth (low sodium) then all the other items in the saute pan, then put it in the oven for 50 min in my papmered chef covered baker. I did add a teaspoon of cajun seasoning and 2 to 3 times as much worchestershire and franks red hot sauce. I did not add additional salt, I used red and white onion as well as some green. I did not use parsley or browning liquid and I did use a can of diced tomatoes.

Wow, this is SO good, you've gotta try it. I cut it in third and used one can of diced tomatoes since I didn't have any fresh. I also sprinkled the veggies with cajun seasoning (about 1-2 tbls) while cooking them. I omit the browning sauce because I don't even know what that is. **Updated*** Had to update because this is my new favorite go to dinner - I just cook the whole thing in a BIG skillet, no need to dirty two dishes. After adding all ingredients, bring to boil then turn down and simmer about 45 min till all the rice is cooked. The best. Thanks!!

We LOVE this recipe. I usually cut it down by a third and bake it in my cast iron dutch oven. Also, when I cut it by a third I add 2 14 oz cans of chicken broth instead of 3 cups. I've never used the browning sauce, but other than that I follow the recipe exactly. So good, we've made it for company many times. Everyone always loves it.

I had never baked jambalaya before today. I'm a fan of the traditional style (cook all day, debone a chicken, etc) jambalaya but this was really good! Mine came out a bit on the salty side but I think that's my fault - I'm not good with measuring, I typically just eyeball stuff. I also sprinkled in a bit of cayenne and some cajun seasoning. My kids loved this & it's so much better for a quick meal than the stuff you buy in a box. A keeper!

Made this for my family and everyone loved it! I used "Zenner's Louisiana Brand Red Hot Sausage" since my family likes things spicy. I also had a package of Foster Farms Sliced Chicken Breasts (fully cooked) that I added about 10 minutes before taking out of the oven. I definitely will make this again.

For all the tasty ingredients - butter, smoked sausage, Wor sauce, hot pepper sauce, chicken broth - this had no flavor! Way too much work for bland end results.
