Jalapeno Bread

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup water (70 to 80 degrees F)
  • 1 tablespoon butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup whole kernel corn
  • 2 tablespoons chopped jalapenos or green chiles
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh cilantro or parsley
  • 2 cups bread flour
  • 1/3 cup cornmeal
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast

DIRECTIONS

  1. In bread machine pan, place all ingredients in order suggested by manufacturer. Select basic bread setting. Choose crust color and loaf size is available. Bake according to bread machine directions (check dough after 5 minutes of mixing; add 1 to 2 tablespoons of water or flour if needed).

FOOTNOTE

  • If your bread machine has a time-delay feature, we recommend you do not use it for this recipe.
